Q:Why cant this door be used for a pool bath door with access to an outdoor covered patio?

Answer This Question
A: It’s in interior door. Even though it’s in a frame, it’s not sealed when it closes the way an exterior door is. (Insects can come in).
Also, the wood is not designed to be exposed to elements (though you could paint the wood to protect it). The glass in the door is not r rated so it doesn’t insúltate against the elements.
It will fail you and you will be sorry later. Trust me, my idiot contractor did it to me and I had to have it replaced.

A: I think one issue is that it is single pane so it won't insulate well. The larger issue is the way the panes are installed. They have solid wood stops and are a little gappy. They are just glass to wood with no sealant between. If water, rain, ice, condensation gets in there it will start to decay/warp etc. pretty quickly. These are really made for interior use.

A: Hi there, please note this door is intended for interior use only (controlled climate conditions on both sides) and was not crafted with exterior use in mind. Hope this helps.
