Q:is it brushless?

Answer This Question

A:  I don't think this is a brush-less type.

by|May 17, 2021

A:  No, it is not brushless. I did an online search of specs and was able to confirm this.

by|Jun 1, 2021

A:  1st possible answer: it comes with a crevice tool and a 5" wide nozzle attachment - no brush. 2nd possible answer: Dewalt makes no claim anywhere that the motor is brushless, which, I think, would be a bragging point. I sure can't tell. I have had this vac over 2 years, and love it (as a DIYer). It is handy and capable.

    by|May 20, 2021

A:  I have not been able to find any documented evidence stating that it is brushless.

      by|Jun 14, 2021

A:  No, it is a brushed moter.

A:  Yes, the filter it paper.

          by|Mar 22, 2021

A:  No. The filter is wet or dry.

            by|May 20, 2021

A:  No, according to the manual, P 7, Save These Instructions for Future Use, Intended Use...1st Note, (2nd paragraph): "The vacuum is designed to perform as a wet/dry unit with no component changes equired when changing from wet to dry, or dry to wet pick up." ...(and 3rd paragraph): "It is recommended that the tank be emptied of any dry contents prior to being used for wet pick up to facilitate tank cleaning." My extra note: and to make cleaning the washable filter easier.

A:  That's an interesting question and I don't remember reading about using it wet but I would check with the manufacturer to be safe. However as for me, I would not run my vac without a filter either wet or dry. It protects the motor and components.

A:  Yes, as long as it is the DCV581H. It should do the 18 and 20 volt batteries.

A:  I believe so, although I don’t think it will last long. I think the dc9099 is a nicad battery and I’ve only used Lithium ion batteries. It works great with those.

A:  2... a crevice tool, and a 5" wide nozzle attachment. I also use a brush from a (very) old, defunct B and D, so there must be some sort of standard to the 1 1/4" nozzel OD.

A:  Yes it has one but do not buy this one. You are going to struggle with that darn hose all the time. It does not stay on its holder. It’s a good vacuum but that hose just killed it for me. I would recommend the milwakee one it is all self contained and it works just as well.

A:  Yes this does have attachments. A wide mouth plastic piece for areas like doing car seats....but there is no brush part to it. It attaces to one end of the vacumn when not in use. There is also a long slim nozzle attachment. When not in use, it stores inside the top handle. Overall great veraitile vacumn.

A:  I don’t know if you can say it will be a certain amount of time. Frankly, I didn’t even know that Dewalt made such a small battery. The smallest I have is 2 AH. I’m sure it will work, but I can’t imagine it will last that long. I use a 5AH battery, and that lasts a long time - at least 20 minutes of almost continuous use. So, it will depend on how you will use the vacuum. I have the vacuum that can run on AC too, so if need be, I can plug it in, while the battery charges. And with the right charger, that does not take too long.

A:  Not sue about the run time on a 1.3 amp battery. In my bigger tools I only use 5 or 6 amp.

A:  They all work with all cordless Dewalt tools. The 5AH will last longer but is adds more weight.

A:  Any of the 20 Amp and FlexVolt batteries will work with the "Max" tools. The greater the Amp Hours (AH) the longer the run time. Maximum run time would be obtained by using the FlexVolt batteries, they are available in 6,9,and 12AH. Or, you can use the cord if an outlet or generator is available and not worry about battery run time.
