A: Thank you for your question. In general Greecian White 3 in. x 6 in. Polished Marble Floor and Wall Tile can be used in front of the fire place. However it is not recommended for natural stone to have direct contact with fire or high temperatures. It is recommended that a professional installer/designer be consulted for determining the suitability, maintainability and installation of the item for a particular installation.

Q:I prefer a white grout, or a very light neutral grey. Will a sanded grout scratch the tile?

Answer This Question
A: For grout joints thinner than 1/8", use a non-sanded grout.
For any joints thicker than that, use a sanded grout. Neither will scratch marble tile if installed properly.
For color, simply use any one of your choice. There is no right or wrong choice; just personal preference.

A: Wet saw is the best for this but some may chip and break. You need to buy at least 10 percent extra to account for errors, chips and breaks.

A: You definitely need a wet saw for this tile. It is marble, so expect chipping and cracking if you don't use a wet saw.

A: You'll also need a high quality tile adhesive since it is going on the wall, grout (sanded or un-sanded depending on how big your spacers are), end tiles (if you want), a trough tool and a wet saw to cut the tiles.

A: We used a platinum white grout for this stone (looks great). You will need a wet saw, adhesive or mortar, edging, spacers, and related tools. Your professional should be able to get these. Make sure you ask if they are included in your price or extra.
