A:  Hello Ken, Thank you for your question on our HDX 27 Gallon Tough Tote in Black/Yellow. We have seen customers use these storage bins for various projects, including storage of food items. The black base is made with recycled Polypropylene and the yellow lid is virgin Polypropylene. Polypropylene resin is used in various food container and food storage. However, this storage tote in not NSF or ANSI certified. Please note that use of this storage tote after purchase is at the sole discretion of the customer. A:  Hi, If your lid is closed properly without the contents protruding from the bin, you shouldn't have any problems with the seal and the lid should stay in place. Of course, your bin must remain stable in the back of your truck. Thank you for your interest in our products. Have a nice day

The base of this storage bin is made with recycled Polypropylene (PP) #5 and the Yellow lid of virgin Polypropylene. We do not recommend applying direct heat to this storage tote as extreme heats may cause the resin to melt of become deformed. I hope I was able to address your question. However, due to the nature of Rats and/or Mice we are unable to verify if it's chew proof. Please keep in mind that when stacking these totes the combined weight will impact the bottom one. The amount of and height of stacked items is at the discretion of the customer. Please not that a gasket seal is not included in the lid that would prevent water or moisture to leak through.
