A:  Yes, from the base not the remote.

      by|May 4, 2023

A:  Yes, this has a reverse airflow function.

        by|May 3, 2023

A:  Yes! When we first set it up we thought it didn't have and real air push and then my husband found the switch and this fan makes lots of breeze.

          by|May 3, 2023

A:  Yes, it can be reversed.

          by|Jul 21, 2016

A:  Hi yes it does. It is on the top of the ceiling fan. Just make sure you power down the fan before you reverse the blades so you don't hit your hands or head and or face. Best regards Mark A. Lucchino.

          by|May 27, 2015

A:  Yes, the switch is located on the top of the fan motor.

          by|May 4, 2023

A:  Yes but you must manually change direction with the switch located on top of the motor. The remote control is not capable of doing this, it can only control fan speeds (3) and turn the light and fan on and off.

            by|May 3, 2023

A:  Yes. There is a small switch at the top of the fan that reverses the direction of the motor. You have to get to it manually to switch it. You can't reverse it from the remote.

            Q:Weather rating for the fan
            by|Apr 13, 2015

            Answer This Question

A:  Blades are fabric and wood. Fan is rated to use outdoors under a roof. Using it in a Pergola would most likely destroy the fan.

            by|May 3, 2023

A:  I would not recommend this fan for an open air install, with wood and rope I believe it would not hold up well to the elements. It would be fine in a covered area but with the rope embellishment it could potentially mildew/mold in a wet environment.

A:  I installed mine on my on a screen porch. When I sprayed the ceiling of the porch to clean it, the water rained down on the fan and ruined it.

A:  The fan is rated "Indoor/Outdoor". Based on the way the light kit and remote control receiver are mounted to the fan, I wouldn't place it in an area where it could be rained on.

            by|Jul 20, 2016

A:  This item is rated for damp applications.

Q:Maximum light bulb wattage of this fan?

              Answer This Question

A:  I owned 4 of these. Because the canopy is completely enclosed, you cannot put more than a 60W bulb in there due to heat. The bulb that comes with this fan is a 60W eqivalent CFL (about 14W). You "should" be able to put a higher wattage bulb in there because there is far less heat with a CFL, but the instructions tell you NOT to.

              by|May 3, 2023

A:  Hi I think it is about 60 watts. I put a 100 watt LED bulb. Just make sure if you use a dimmer you should only use bulbs that are made for dimming. Best regards Mark A. Lucchino.

A:  Dear Valued Home Depot Customer, We have reached out the MFG for more information and below is their response. "Fan is UL rated for 60W max"

              by|May 3, 2023

A:  The installation instructions say '1 standard 60 watt light', but with LEDs, you can go much higher if you need it.

              Q:remote control for the fan

A:  The fan does spin slower than we'd like. I don't think you should be running it on a dimmer style switch. The remote is a standard Hampton Bay remote with low, med, and high speed settings so you should be able to buy a replacement one at Home Depot. The receiver and remote have a 4 position DIP switch that need to match to communicate. You may have to try all variations on the remote to get it to communicate with the reciever if you don't want to pull down the canopy and take a look yourself.

A:  Hi the fans high setting only spins 70 times a minute. I wish it would spin a lot faster to get more air flow as this item was a lot of money. The fan comes with the remote but I went with a Lutron fan speed and light changing wall remote. You can ask hamton bay for more info on this product. Best regards Mark A. Lucchino.
