A:  If your knob does not have exposed screws on the interior rose, please follow these instructions to access the mounting screws. On the rose plate, you'll find notches on either side. You can wedge a flathead screwdriver between the rose plate and mounting plate to pop it off. Once you remove the rose plate, you’ll find the mounting plate. Next, loosen the screws on the mounting plate to remove the knob from the door.

A:  This is a single cylinder lock so it does not require a key on both sides of the door. It will have the twist to lock mechanism on the interior side of the door for both the knob and deadbolt.

A:  The inside has a twist lock.

A:  Door knob has key only on exterior and twist lock on inside knob. The deadbolt has keyhole on exterior and latch on interior.

A:  I've used Home Depot outdoor locks and knobs for 9 properties and none of them have corroded.

A:  The finish can discolor, especially brass. The lifetime warranty covers that without sending the old locks back. They require photos with the online form, first you have to call the kwikset toll free number to start the claim with customer service.

A:  These are made for exterior doors and will not rust. The finish of these will not change over time.

A:  Kwikset products come with a lifetime mechanical and finish warranty to the original residential user against defects in material and workmanship as long as the original user occupies the residential premises upon which the product was originally installed. After installation of the hardware, gently rub off any excess oil that remains on the exterior components using a clean dry terry towel or cheesecloth. A non-abrasive paste car wax can be applied to the lock. Liquid graphite or sewing machine oil can be sprayed into the cylinder (key way) and the latch. Use of other commercial lubricants not recommended.

A:  If you look where the screw heads go through it should be an elongated hole, after the heads are through you have to rotate the assembly a slight amount then tighten the screws

A:  Really like the Kwikset with smart key. Able to key all locks in my home to the same key and they look and work great!

A:  They're designed so you don't have to drive the screws all the way through all the peices and the door. You can twist the nob right back onto the screws and just tighten them down more.
