A:  Thanks for the query. It will turn on automatically when the room temperature reaches below the set temperature.

A:  If your question is: does the heater shut down after it reaches the preset temperature, and turns back on when it drops below that temperature? Then the answer is YES. The heater is controlled by the internal thermostat which turns the heater on or off based on the desired temperature.

A:  No it doesn’t come with a remote. I don’t have issue with bending over to adjust heater.

A:  It doesn't have a remote but is controlled by a thermostat and once you find the correct setting for your room it will maintain the temperature you set.

A:  yes, it has a remote, but I never used it. The unit does not need to be constantly turned on/off, just set the temperature you want, it will not run till temperature in the room drops below preset temp on the unit, just like whole house thermostat.

A:  No remote with mine. I usually set the timer on it to turn off at a certain time

A:  It does not come with a remote. You can set a timer on the heater so it will shut off at a certain time. It makes no noise and the heat in my cold office is so nice. If we go away for a few days, I always unplug for safety.

A:  That doesn't sound normal. Mine makes a very light vibrational sound but it's barely noticeable so if it's louder than a very, very slight hum, I'd exchange it. Sounds like something is off.

A:  The lowest auto temp is 39 ° mine is under a cold window & rarely comes on set @ 58 ° A good heater unit - my last one ( same exact ) lasted trouble free for nearly ten years!

A:  It goes down to 39 degrees.

A:  Hello! Thanks for the inquiry. All-digital space heater can have the temperature range set from 39 degrees to 90 degrees Fahrenheit.

A:  No. Keep in mind that I do not recommend this heater. Mine suddenly stopped working after two months use. I plan to return it under the three year warranty but that requires shipping it back to the company. If you buy it be sure to get the Home Depot warranty.

A:  I am surprised, it doesn’t have a remote. The 1st two that we purchase did, it was great you didn’t have to bend over to set it.

A:  They are thermally protected so it's highly unlikely they could start a fire as long as nothing flammable makes contact with the heating element. My wife often has clothing that touches the top grill and it doesn't get hot enough to start a fire.

A:  I have it set to 72°F, it is on the carpeting in my study, and has been on for many days straight during this cold weather. No burn marks on the carpet and I have no concerns.

A:  No worries about a fire-65 is a median temperature. We place ours inside our back porch, it runs 24/7 as soon as the temps go below 65 and then we put it away spring arrives!
