A: Yes, the outlet is ALWAYS ON, which is great as you can separately control whatever device, light, appliance with the switch

A: Hi, the oulet can be always on, if you decide to have in tha way, or can be controlled by the switch. I want to have both in different circuits so I cut the connection between the 2 of them.

Q:I'm replacing a light switch with this combination switch. There are only two wires on the existing switch. How do I independently control the switch and the outlet?

Answer This Question
A: You wire it the same as you would if there were a separate switch and outlet in the same box. This assumes that the hot wire coming to your existing switch also has a neutral wire, ie the fixture the switch controls is power sourced from the switch, not the fixture.

Q:Replacing my light switch with a new light switch and connecting my refrigerator to that plug my refrigerator is being moved

A: Some people might argue that the elegance and convenience of a rocking switch is greatly reduced when a plug is permanently plugged in right next to it, as one might expect from a refrigerator plug. There is, however, no question that one can plug in virtually anything in the outlet. The more interesting question is whether the switch can be used to turn power on and off to the outlet next to it (as you’re unlikely to want that with a refrigerator plugged in). There are wiring instructions that come with the switch/outlet combination which explain how you can have a permanently live outlet and a switch that controls lights (or some other circuit).

A: Yes, normally all home refrigerators utilize a 15amp circuit.
This has two separate circuits one for a light or fan switch and the other for an electrical outlet.

Q:I am replacing a single switch that controls a ceiling light right now. Can this be wired such that, its switch controls the existing ceiling light and its own outlet both simultaneously?

Answer This Question
A: The outlet is independent from the switch, therefore can work separately.
If you wish the outlet to be controlled by the switch, then you need to wire from switch into the outlet. In parallel same switch can be wired (double wire) for the light.

A: The product overview states "Outlet may be wired for switch control or constant power," and I believe what you want is to wire the outlet for switch control (rather than constant power). That seems like a Yes to your question to me. The instructions that came with this product were pretty clear. I personally wanted constant power for the outlet, and my recollection is that I was instructed to remove a small piece of copper along the side to make the outlet power constant and thus independent of the switch. You might be spared that trouble. I followed the instructions and can say that my installation went well.

A: Sorry, but without having the wires in your box properly identified, I'm afraid I cannot provide specific wiring instructions outside of those included in the device's instructions. If you'd like additional technical support, please call 1-800-824-3005.

Q:My outlet/switch DID NOT come with an instruction sheet. Is there a PDF available on your website or here? I found a video form google search BUT that video was not on your website. Since there are multiple ways of wiring these you need to correct this oversight.

A: The T5625 is a switch/outlet combination device that is rated for single pole applications only. Leviton does not offer a switch/outlet combo that is rated for 3-way applications.

A: Depends on how you want it to behave. I have it wired so that the switch controls the outlet, which means I've wired both black & white to the left side of the outlet (as seen in the product photo). If you want the outlet live, and the switch hard-wired to a light (assuming you have wiring for both), hook the light to the top on each side (switch), and the outlet wires to the bottom on each side.

A: Yes, put the black and white wires on the same side of the unit - on the black screens. The other side (where the screws are closer together) has the poles linked. Does not matter which screw the black wire goes on and which the white - as long as they are both on the black screws.

A: There is no way I can answer this unless I know what you want to control with the switch. The standard use for this would be to have the outlet hot all the time, and have the switch control a light fixture. Doesn't sound like that is what you are trying to do here.

Q:Do you have a how-to-install video or diagram? I have a 4-Wire Cable Setup in my home on the current switch I wish to replace.
Should be;
Red wire = Power or Hot wire
Black wire = Power or Hot wire
White wire = Neutral
Bare copper = Ground
if I am not mistaken.

A: Diagram should be included on the box
by|Jun 26, 2019
A: The black (hot) wire goes to the top black screw terminal. The red (load) wire goes to the brass screw terminal. The white (neutral) wire goes to the silver screw terminal. The bare copper (ground) goes to the green screw terminal. The brass tab between the two black screws remains intact. The switch will control the load and the outlet will always have power. If you are unsure of these directions please contact Leviton’s technical support line at 1-800-824-3005.
