Q:How does this product work in cement siding
by|Mar 4, 2021

Answer This Question

A:  It is not designed for ceramic cutting (eg a diamond cutting surface). This saw also lacks carbide tipped saw blades that can be used for cement boards. (e.g. as used in a table saw). Still, I would expect it to cut a few holes in cement siding before the blades become dull. If you only need to cut a few holes this might be the lowest cost solution.

A:  It will wear out a lot faster than with wood. I'm guessing that it would last longer with the cement siding than it would with metal though.

A:  It is a metal saw. Not good on wood. Drywall is probably ok.

A:  This would cut through drywall with no problem. Be sure to check above the ceiling before drilling into it to make sure there is no stray electrical, joists, etc.

A:  Yes. I use it. For plywood... so drywall would be much easier

            Answer This Question

A:  Tried to drill a hole through siding on my house. Never made it through. For what I paid it was very disappointing. I would not recommend this for purchase.

            by|Dec 17, 2021

A:  Is it possible that it was turning the wrong direction? I have used a lot of different holesaws and never had a new one not work. In fact, it usually is so aggressive if your not careful it will rip the drill from your hands. If the drill was turning the correct direction when it wasn't cutting, I would say there was something wrong with it and you should take it back to point of purchase.

A:  M16-15. It's universal, but the manufacturers don't publish the specs in hopes that you'll always buy a new arbor. So frustrating.

A:  I used one once and barely made it through 12 awg steel decking sub floor. The teeth were gone after… used low speed. I use other smaller sizes of same brand and had no issue after numerous holes. Maybe defective batch on the 4.5”?
