Q:Has anyone tryed it on electrical PVC schedule 40 or 80?
by|Apr 6, 2019
1 Answer
Answer This Question

A:  I haven't tried it. But from experience with using other heat guns, I would not expect it to work. It puts out about the same heat as a corded heat gun on low. It is enough heat to make minor adjustments to an existing bend, but not enough for a new bend. If you are going to do much bending, invest in a heating blanket, or heat box. They will pay for themselves is labor savings.

A:  This unit will reach temperatures as high as 875 F.

A:  351* F is the hottest I got it (advertised as 875* F being max). So I would say it is not possible.

                        by|May 5, 2023

A:  Since 350 deg C is equal to 662 deg F, and the stated max temp is 875 deg F (468.3 deg C), then it should. At least give it a try. You could always take it back to the store.

A:  It works about as well as a hair dryer. If you don't have a lot of ice to melt, it will work. For a major blockage, you are still better off with a forced air space heater. Your arms will than your.

A:  Yes, you can heat PVC with this tool, you need to supply the battery as this is a tool only

                                  by|May 5, 2023

A:  It does not last long and the airflow is much limited compared to an AC powered heat gun. For a large PVC bending, I would use an AC and generator over this. Much faster heat transfer and the job would go much faster.

A:  No. It is an over priced piece of junk. Basically a Harbor Freight grade Power Tool ten times the price because its Red and Black and says Milwaukee on it. The specs and capabilities arent mearly as good ss any other heat gun that js GREATLY more affordable.
