A:  Yes Melissa, you can use a flexible wand with this filter, however we caution not to use the shower head or wand with a shut-off valve. if you use a shut-off valve you are putting unnecessary pressure against the filter and the cap assembly, which will eventually cause it to leak. Since you are on a well system, we suggest that you have your water tested prior to purchase to ensure you purchase the correct system to address the issues in your water. A:  I had to do a little reading but stage one of the filter is Copper and Zinc Oxidation Media how compares to other KDF filters on the market I do not know. I am on City water system with medium hard water, with high concentrations of chlorine and fluoride and the filter seems to work great.
