Q:How much is the offset front to back from the base to the top of a 2? wall?

Answer This Question
A: Hi Raul.
Thank you for shopping at The Home Depot.
The off set on the bottom of each block is about ½ inch. Each piece is 4 inches thick. For a 2-foot-high wall (24inches), you would use 6 blocks for this height.
Since each block has a ½ inch offset, that would give you a total of a 3-inch total offset from top to bottom.
Please let us know if we can be of further assistance.

A: Ridge goes on the bottom, so it will catch the back of the paver below

A: It is supposed to go on the bottom. When you fill in the back with dirt, it helps them to lock in place. A dab of industrial adhesive will firm up the wall as well.

Q:Why only 2 feet high is the wall recommendation?

A: Not sure about the 2 foot limit but I do know that each block has a lip on the back that you put behind the back edge of the block below it. I used 39 blocks to build a three layer circular wall for a fire pit. Each layer made the inside circle a little smaller. I bought a 36 in. diameter x 12 in. high metal fire ring to fit in the middle. The three layer block wal was also 12in. high.

A: Manufacturer / HD being conservative? I built 2 curved retaining walls up to 3.5 feet high. I used landscaping construction adhesive between layers. Lasted perfectly for three years so far. The lowest levels set in gravel with a little concrete mix.

Q:My house is roughly 50 x 40 and I?d like to build a circle around it and then a mote. Probably 4? tall how many do I need
by|Aug 1, 2023

Answer This Question
A: you would probably want your moat to be at least 70 feet in diameter, so 45' radius gives you a circumference of 282. I use 1.1 of these for every foot of circumference so 310 per layer. If you want the moat to be 4 feet tall you'll need 3720 of them

A: They work well for a fire pit. 10 of them fit together to make a circle, I used 30 for 3 layers. You will need to chisel the lip off of the back edges to make them lay flat.
