A:  Yes… I suggest drilling at least 10 1/2 holes in the bottom.  Add at least 5-6 inches of clean gravel in the bottom.  1/2 whatever dirt is in you yard and 1/2 miracle-gro potting soil for vegetables.  I dug a hole and sank the pots down 6 inches

A:  I use these for planting tomatoes and green beans. Place no more than 2 plants per pot to avoid overcrowding. Use any vegetable garden soil with potassium phosphorus and nitrogen. Include plant stakes to support plants upright as they grow.

A:  Hi. You can use this planter as a beginning pot for a small Madagascar palm but you will need to replant it to a bigger area at a later date depending on how big it starts to get. This palm grows around 12 in. per year and if planted outside can grow up to 20 ft. Planting inside it will get to between 4 and 6 ft. Good luck and happy planting.

A:  I've never removed the center plug. But I always drill several extra holes in the bottom to allow for better drainage. I have many of these.

A:  This planter contains a drainage hole. For adequate drainage, use a screwdriver to pop it through before planting.

                                            by|Jul 27, 2022

A:  I have to say that I have never planted an avocado tree but in my opinion as I have planted a few small palms, that it should not be a problem as long as it is only 1 tree per planter. I would though only use it as a starter as avocado trees get really big and should eventually be replanted in the ground. I checked with my go-to-guy and he agreed. Happy planting.

A:  Avocados grow super fast during summer months when they get a lot of sun, water and nutrients. This may be enough for 1 or 2 max as their root system will get intertwined which will make it difficult to separate later if you want to re-pot them. For 1 this is pretty good.
