A:  We did not prime anything ahead of time and it covered very well.  We used just over one five gallon bucket for 800 square feet of ceiling using an airless sprayer.  It was very messy but well worth it for the look and cost savings.

A:  We can help, Danny! Priming is not required prior to using Rust-Oleum Zinsser Waterbourne Dry Fall Coating. The recommended coverage is 300-400 square feet per gallon. This coverage rate is based upon volume solids and does not include an application loss factor due to surface porosity, profile, or roughness, applicator technique, skill, or method of application, or material lost due to mixing, spilling, excess film build, over thinning, or ambient temperature or humidity. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 3

A:  Didn't do any of that. Used an airless sprayer. The 5-gallon bucket covered my whole basement, which was 1100 square feet. Have some left for touch-ups too. Very pleased with this product.

A:  I finished about 700sq ft of my basement and used this on the ceiling. No priming of the joists, subfloor etc. I used an airless sprayer and did it all with a single 5gal bucket with a little left over. That included a single coat and touch-up where needed. The 1500 sq ft coverage appears accurate but remember your joists and ducting add more area to be covered than the flat floor they are over, probably twice as much. I’d plan on 5gal/750sq ft floor being covered and you’ll be safe.
