Part of it is your employees live here in Hawaii. Aloha is a real thing. So regardless of corporate frustrations, I may have I’ve always treated kindly and with respect by all the people who work there.

I SHOP REGULARLY AT HOMEDEPOT AND FOR THE MOST PART EVERYTHING IS TERRIFIC

Everything I need when I have a project is at this location. Plus you can order bulky items online and they will bring it your vehicle in special marked stalls.

Clean, very friendly and helpful staff. Items are usually in stock.

Customer service worker Estelle was very helpful and polite to all the customers and myself.

Sales Cashier, Raquel, Carinya and Layna gave me great customer service. They took care of any concerns I had during my visit to their store.

Go see Gary at the rental center! He is kind and very helpful!

I go to this Home Depot at least 3 to 4 times a week and continually receive great customer service and the employees exceed expectations!

If you have Ryobi tools always seek out the Ryobi sales person for great service. I have interacted with more than one Ryobi representative at the Hilo Home Depot and they have all been very helpful.

Unlike other home improvement stores, the associates at Home Depot are extremely helpful and knowledgeable! We always find what we need and get it for a comparable price to other stores.

We have visited this location frequently while we build our home and every time the experience has been positive due to the outstanding level of customer service each employee provides. From the rental department to the retail, they always go above and beyond in helping answer all questions and guiding us to find what we’re looking for each trip.

While Home Depot wishes to appear military/veteran friendly, in reality it is only conveniently friendly. You receive a 10% discount on small purchases but the discount may not to major purchases such as large appliances where it would be very helpful.

I was greeted and treated like a very valued customer during my shopping experience today by Estelle. She was extremely helpful and someone I would have loved to have an employee for my own business. She's a gem which is very hard to find these days.

Hilo Home Depot has a bunch of really nice, helpful people who have gone out of their way to help me. I've had multiple better than expected experience with Appliances, Kitchen Design and Paint, all were just trying to get me the best possible value and customer satisfaction. Yes, maybe I've been a bit lucky and of course you won't always get the perfect response but there is for sure more of a local hardware store vibe, and it really is nice. Thanks Hilo Home Depot..

I've been happy over the years finding odd needed items at the Hilo Home Depot. In addition to the usual Carpentry/Electrical/Plumbing items, I've been able to find tiny screws for my folding knives, o-rings for my flashlights and diving gear, and oxygen cylinders for home brewing beer. I've also found them to have competitive prices on diamond knife sharpening products, and Milwaukee blades.

I bought a washing machine at home Depot. Unfortunately it had to be special ordered. Fortunately the employee in the appliance department named Wendy was very helpful, informative and professional.

I purchased this item a couple of days ago and I am very satisfied with the quality and service.

I love the manager of the store Sam, And he seems to have a pretty good cast of workers. Friendly, helpful and really to help the customer. Jus, in lumber is the best!! The night crew is a professional but fun group of super nice people !

 I called in to purchase a dishwasher. A salesperson named Wendy answered. I told her I needed a great dishwasher at a good price and needed to know what was in stock. She told me that of all the dishwashers they had in stock at the time, she recommended the Kitchen Aid. She said it got excellent reviews, it looked good, it didn't have many repair issues, it was super quiet, an energy star appliance, and best of all it was on sale for hundreds of dollars off. I made the purchase right there over the phone and it will be delivered this Monday. Wendy was quick, efficient, knowledgeable with the products, and delivered the best customer service over the phone that I've ever had on a phone transaction ever (usually people on the phone are rude and short & won't take the time to help someone). She also made sure I had everything I'd need to install it (power cord & water-line kit). She also  told me to fully inspect the dishwasher while the delivery guys were still there and if there were any dents, scratches etc., to refuse it and they'd send another. She also said to get it installed and try it out to be sure it all worked properly within 48 hours and if anything was wrong, to call back and they'd send out another before it went to the manufacturer's warranty - which could be difficult and untimely to deal with. All Great tips! So, I like this Home Depot and I highly recommend buying an appliance from Wendy there.

We in Hawaii Nei have most items on Oahu; as such, natives on Big Island of Hawaii are blessed with Home Depot stocked with EVERYTHING, so I could buy best double-down special range,best refrigerator, washer, dishwasher, garbage disposal, upgrade entire floors, yard, etc. Super customer service, THANKS, Mrs.Eckols

THE DIFFERENCE IN THE WORKING MORAL OR SPIRIT BETWEEN HILO AND KONA IS VERY APPARENT, HILO IS FAR MORE EVERYTHING THAN KONA. IN KONA, I DON'T FEEL LIKE GOING BACK, NO REAL EXPRESSION TO HELP OR ASSIST, EVERYONE APPEARS TO BE AVOIDING CUSTOMERS. I purchased shipping boxes to ship some art to Honolulu. I couldn't find any boxes at USPS, FedEx or Office Max. Home Depot had a lot of product and supplies. The prices for each item were well displayed and all of the products were neatly stocked on the shelves. An employee approached me and took me to the location where the products were stocked.
