Great store and great people

Several employees approached us and asked if we needed help and directed us to items we were looking for.

My husband and I like the Honesdale Home Depot store very much. The people who work there are very helpful and eager to help when help is needed. They are very knowledgeable in knowing exactly what and where to find what you need. This is a pleasant place to shop.

Ray in plumbing (pretty sure that was his name) helped me with a faucet leak that I've been trying to fix for months. Two other clerks had given me the wrong part (it is confusing in their defense) but Ray suggested replacing a spring I didn't even know existed, cost under 2 bucks and was so easy to install. It worked perfectly! Thanks Ray!!

This store does not offer the 10% Veteran discount to ALL veterans. You have to have an active duty ID, a retiree ID or disabled ID. The only way to get the retiree ID is to have served 20+ years. What about the rest of us who fulfilled our enlistment and did not rejoin numerous times and then retire? WE'RE NOT WORTHY. The manager will tell you that the store is following corporate policy, complete with an ID list at every checkout counter. Every other HD I have ever visited honors my service. This is an insult to every one of us who served, but either didn't get injured or who served less than 20 years.

Service desk staff were excellent. The warehouse staff are useless. I waited one hour for my merchandise to be brought from the back of the store to the service desk. The warehouse manager needs to be reminded that without customers he is not needed. I am in the service industry for 40 years and have never disrespected a customer the way I was today.

You won't find a better Home Depot in the area. It's always clean, everyone is friendly and super knowledgeable. You see big smiles all around and can tell that people are genuinely kind. Not in the "I work for a corporate entity and they tell me to smile" kind of way- they are just genuinely awesome people who go out of their way to help. These people are the backbone of the store and really make shopping there are great experience. It's not something that can be taught, and I've been to TONS of Home Depot. They are not all cut from the same cloth. In addition to that, the store is well organized, always clean, and has a great selection compared to other stores. They keep in stock of the majority of hardware, fastners, tools, and other supplies I usually hunt for. Honestly, I can't do the store justice in a short review, so let me just summarize by saying that the Honesdale location is probably one of the best, if not THE BEST Home Depot in the country.

i had mentioned in my survey two employees were rude Jim Mann and the other Steve . Dont know which one spoke to me but they forced me to leave from me getting 2x3 lumber told me i had to move so they could get the osb board with there fork lift . I said i shouldn't have to move that the customer should be able to get the product first . They advised me that they had a customer to and i had to move , very rude. I was later approched by another employee and said they were wrong.

Any one in the trades knows that all home depots are not the same. The Honesdale store is clean,organized and easy in and out. Saves us valuable time.

The new store manager does not recognize all veterans with the 10% discount as most other Home Depot stores choose to do. Wayne County has a veterans discount program where properly vetted individuals receive a photo ID. This used to suffice until this new store manager arrived. Disgraceful.

We just had such a great experience at Homedepot. Nicole helped us right away. We were looking for a specific deal we had seen online. Nicole saw us wondering around and asked us if we needed help? Thankfully she was able to help us get better quality of tools for a better deal. She was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Thank you for helping us out! We will be back.

Store no longer honors Veterans Discount.

The employees at this store are the most helpful and knowledgeable professionals you can find. They go above and beyond to help you with any and all home improvements with a smile. This is a great store!

My recent appliance purchases were made so easy by Chaz & Jay. Chaz gave me excellent tips to prepare for installation & they were both extremely knowledgeable about the units I chose. I got a great deal on a washer & dryer with their help. Everyone from sales to install were terrific. That was my 4th appliance purchase at this store and I wouldn't go elsewhere for my next. Friendly, professional & reliable service plus competitive prices. Great employees! Thanks to all.

Avoid this store if you are a veteran and expect to enjoy the 10% discount you get at other Home Depots. The new manager has implemented a strict corporate policy of extending the discount only to active military, veterans who retired with 20+ years, as well as disabled veterans. The rest of us who served are out, not worthy of the respect and gratitude most other Home Depot stores show to ALL veterans.

I am happy to have a hd so close to where we live. I appreciate the management and front end help. When I worked in retail, and trained people, I always made a point of telling them that all competitors had good products, sale prices and other things customers would want, but I emphasized that the one and most important thing that a company could excell in is CUSTOMER SERVICE! This store gets a high score for this. but never take it for granted, always keep on the watch pay attention customer, their questions, their attitude and what they are looking at in the store. Most of all don't be afraid to ask questions and make suggestions, It's something I've always done and appreciate the help myself. When I was still working, the best compliment I ever got from a woman I like to think of as "A HIGH CLASS LADY", said "It was a privilige to be waited on by someone like me". I'll never forget that one. That's what makes the job worthwhile folks.

In the past 16 years, we have purchased numerous home improvement materials including paint, lumber, tile, bathroom fixtures and even rugs from this store. The store is neat, well organized and they have a very good selection to choose from - especially tile and flooring. Just purchased a new "smart" water heater this store (it has a sensor in it that will notify you if it leaks -WiFi connected). Salespeople were super helpful, they put the heater on a cart for me and loaded it into my SUV after I checked out.

treated very poorly..... Don't care for anyone who spends alot of $ here At the end of the day the employee are fake and your just another # till the end of there shift!
