We asked for help in the lumber department and was told to get the more expensive and then the employee walked off. The lumber we wanted was not at floor level. We ended up getting one of the cheaper boards that my husband could reach and it was better than what was left of the more expensive boards. We did go ahead and purchase the one cheaper board and the rest more expensive boards. We will go to Lowe’s next time.

Great store with great employees.

The garden area was easy to navigate and the associates were happy to assist me.

I have no way of proving this, but at the end of the day as I was inputting the receipts into my business accounting software, I saw that the cashier charged me for 4 sheets of green board (#081099033865) and I only purchased 2. Also, the same cashier charge me for 2 10" x 4" universal register boxes (#050206926741) and I only purchased 1. As a result, I was overcharged by approx. $40.00. The cashier's name (at least on the receipt) is James and he was working on the contractor's side.

Home Depot in Newport News is nice place to shop. The items are clearly accessible and they had more than enough 8ft long 1.5 by 3.5 slabs of wood to repair my rear fence. When I returned home, I realized that I needed more wood (different size) to complete my project, so I will come back to finish shopping there tomorrow. Recommend

It is a clean store and it's location is very convenient. I am usually in and out fast with very friendly customer service! Unfortunately the store no longer carried a garden item I was wanting to purchase.

Was a great experience. So far their best store in the chain. They need to make their other stores as this one is. The store is an example of what a DIY hardware store should be. Courteous and attentive employees. The store was pretty clean considering it was very busy. I did not see a single employee without something to do or at their post. I will definately be seeing them for all of my home and business DIY supplies and advice. Their staff is also knowledgeable in their departments making it easier to shop.

The employees at this store are are actively looking for people to help and help happily. (Unlike other stores where they are around but seem to run when you look like you are going to ask a question.)

Great customer service from beginning to end! I was helped throughout my trip the whole time. I was able to get in and out very fast. They exceeded all my expectations.

My husband and I would highly recommend the Electrical/Lighting area and Lawn & Garden department at the Newport News Home Depot. 1st, we needed to replace fluorescent light bulbs that burned out after just a few years of use, and Kelly was refreshingly knowledgeable about the 4' LED replacement options that made our choice process a smooth, easy success. Working with Kelly landed us a well-lit kitchen like we've not had before. 2nd, two of our neighbors told us about Milorganite Fertilizer being the source of their beautiful new growth in their lawn, and Tom in Lawn & Garden was specially helpful to take us straight to the product location and even provided us with a "broken-container discount" for the last 3 bags left torn a bit on the pallet. Working with Tom = A+ experience!

It’s really comfortable shopping there

Store was clean. Some of the products was not in-stock to select from. Pamela, contractor cashier, was exceptionable in friendly, professional, bubbly and energetic.

Employee service was exceptional from the guy (unfortunately, didn't get his name) on the floor to Pamela, at the register, and Danta, who helped me load my purchase. Thanks so much for being so professional, friendly, and kind.

It was a normal shopping experience with the exception that the cashier was much more pleasant and friendly than most. I dont complete these surveys much, in fact, I have never completed one for Home Depot (I've only had one bad experience but that was long ago). But I felt compelled to complete the survey this time due to the very professional and congenial attitude of the sales cashier Pamela.

Tom in the Garden Center and Toria at the service desk were great. Helped in the purchase a great lawn tractor and yard equipment. Very clean and friendly store. Very grateful and will be a frequent customer due to the high quality of customer satisfaction.

As an anemic shopper on an empty stomach, I started feeling lightheaded while struggling to push the cart. A Home Deport representative came quickly, pushed my cart to the nearest chair, made sure I sat safely while he looked for the item I needed, and even offered me water. Additionally, the casher asked another representative to help me put all the items in the car, and bring the remaining ones as well. The whole team was so kind and helpful! I felt safe and a valued customer. Thank you so much!

Great Store, Great Service!

We received excellent customer service in the paint department with Donald (Eugene). He worked with us on our paint issue past his shift. A gentle giant and customer friendly man! Home Depot is lucky to have him!

Great store but employees should not push Easter on people. We are not all Christians.

Everytime I go to this Home Depot they are more then helpful and always greeted. Recently wanted a patio set that was in stock and they made sure to find it in the store, then continued to help with checkout and load into the truck! Tanya is amazing!!

Over the years (decades) I’ve shopped all of the big box stores, but Home Depot is my go to store for saving me money. When comparison shopping, no one beats them.
