How do I rent a truck?

Penske moving truck rentals and moving vans have different rules. You may also visit our truck rental page to see if what you need is available at your store.
Can I rent a truck for a week?
Rent a moving van or truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes could be plenty. Otherwise, consider renting it by the day or the week, depending on how long your project is. Remember to factor in the drive between the job site and the store, as you'll need to return it to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow one-way rentals as well as round-trip options, and they have different terms. Make sure to read the contract before you decide on a van.
Do I need to refuel the rental truck when I'm done?
Yes, please fuel up the truck before you return it. Match the level of gas that was in the tank when you received the rental. If you don't, you'll be hit with a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Can I rent a truck with only a driver's license?
No, you also need to be 21 or older, in addition to holding a valid driver's license. Depending on your state, you may require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. Please bring your credit card for Home Depot truck rentals, as we don't accept cash. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements, so read those if you plan to rent a Penske truck.
