Can I rent a van?

Penske moving truck rentals and moving vans have different rules. You could also read our truck rental page to see if the vehicle you need is at your favorite store.
Can I rent a truck for a few hours?
Rent a truck or moving van for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes might be plenty. Otherwise, consider renting it by the week or the day, depending on the length of your project. Remember to factor in the drive to and from the store, as you'll need to return it to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow round-trip options as well as one-way options, and they have different terms. Be sure to read the documentation before selecting a van.
Do I need to refill the rental truck with gas?
Yes, please fuel up the truck before you bring it back. Match the amount of gas that was in the tank when you got the rental. If you don't, you'll be hit with a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Do I just need a driver's license to rent a truck?
No, you must hold a valid driver's license and be over the age of 21. Depending on your state, you may require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. We don't accept cash for Home Depot truck rentals, so please bring your credit card. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements, so read those if you plan to rent a Penske truck.
