Can I rent a moving truck?
Stop by your local Rental Center to see what trucks are available for rent. If you'd like to be sure of what's in stock, call first to inquire about renting a Load 'N Go cargo van, flatbed truck, or pickup truck. Penske moving truck rentals and moving vans have different rules. You could also check out our truck rental page to see if the vehicle you need is offered at your store.
How long can I rent a truck?
Rent a truck or moving van for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes could be plenty. Otherwise, consider renting it by the week or the day, depending on the length of your project. Be sure to factor in the drive to and from the store, as you must bring it back to the same store where you rented it. Penske moving truck rentals allow one-way rentals as well as round-trip options, and they have different terms. Be sure to read the contract before selecting a vehicle.
Do I need to refill the rental truck with gas?
Yes, please fill up the truck before you bring it back. Note the amount of gas in the tank when you receive the truck, and fill it with enough gas to match that level. If you don't, you'll have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Can I rent a truck with only a driver's license?
No, you must hold a valid driver's license and be 21 or older. Depending on your state, you might require car insurance, as well as a credit card hold or a deposit, too. We don't accept cash for Home Depot truck rentals, so please bring your credit card. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements.
