I've been shopping at Home Depot since I can remember, and I can't say I've ever had five star service, but I know its a big company and they don't seem to invest much in training for good customer service, however I've never had an experience that had me feeling like I would never want to shop there again...until I went to HD in temecula. I had the WORST customer service in so many different aspects. I had someone come measure to give me a quote on flooring throughout my whole house that is being renovated. After a month of trying to get my quote, being transferred to different people who just sent me to the next person..and none of them were sympathetic or apologetic. Finally someone called me back, and said they still didnt have my quote because I never gave them the name of the type of flooring material I wanted to use downstairs..(which is so innacurate) when I told her "yes, we did" she snapped at me and then she called me a liar! I told her, thanks to service like hers, I would be taking my business to lowe's, and she laughed at me, and said "good luck with that" I said how much quicker they've been returning my calls and she said "That's bc Lowe's isnt busy, they are terrible and have too much time on thier hands" I couldn't believe what I was hearing... (this is just a tiny bit of what I had to deal with btw) Then I finally got to talk to a store manager named Scott, and after explaining everything and how it's forced me to be super behind in our renovation, and how them giving me the run around for a month and I stillll never got the quote, he apologized in a very monotone and unsypathetic voice and his solution was that I could come back in and they would credit me the $50 it cost me to get the estimate..
(OBVIOUSLY, I'VE NEVER EVEN SEEN THE QUOTE!) I'm more than just angry, I'm upset and feel very let down by a company I've used my whole life... we even make it a family thing to go get the christmas tree from them every year.... not this year, and never again.. I now drive 20mins out of my way just to go to Lowe's... I wish HomeDepot would make it right.
