Answer:
Small flow of water around the shaft is normal. If it is a large spray there could be a crack in the seal or shaft.

Rated 2.3 out of 5 by 6 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Don't waste your money Model 54222, half circle spray pattern. Says that the spray distance is 10' - 15'. Installed mine and maybe getting 8-9 feet. No instructions anywhere on the label as to whether or not there is an adjust ment that will allow me to spray the 15' as advertised. Their web site doesn't give any help either. May 22, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Worst sprinkler heads I have ever used. Bought over 60 of these and replaced all my old ones plus for my neighbor. I was so expecting the double spray heads and coverage. Most heads started to leak around the pop up seal right away and was useless. I could not get them replaced because there was no "other complaints" plus that they was now used... I am still replacing back to the old heads every week. Just a waist of money plus all my labor. These heads are cheap and attractive to look at with the brass and so, but don't waist your time and money, buy something better and pay a little more. These heads should not be in Home Depots shelfes! May 13, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good Sprinkler Good sprinkler never had a problem with them. When my old sprinklers break I just pop one of these in and works like a charm. September 29, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not worth it Bought one of these to replace an existing head because it was the only 180 they had in the store... screwed it in and the top blew off the head when I turned on the water. Replaced with a Rain Bird from a different store and have had no issues. June 25, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Is There a Defect? I don't go out of my way to write reviews for $2.50 items but I've had 6 of these pop following installation. I just laid new sod and bought 7 or 8 of theses. Several blew right a way and I just found another one with the internal components blown out. These are the half-pattern, 4" pop-ups WaterMaster Series. I guess I need to spend a few more bucs$ (which I did) and get better ones. March 28, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Product The city water pressure is not enough to pop up more than 2 sprinkles August 9, 2012
