can a natural gas fire burner be installed with it.

Asked by: TomJ
It could be used but you would need to either drill a hole through the stone and metal liner for the pipe to go through so you have a shut off valve on the outside or bury the line for the burner under the stone and liner and then bring it up on the outside for a valve there. Then take it back down and run the pipe about a ft and a half underground so you meet local specifications for gas lines. I have an EP Henry fire pit that we ran a gas line to where we did the first option. We have this fire pit from home depot strictly for firewood.

44 in. Fossill Brown Round Fire Pit Kit is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 55.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Looks great Seems a little expensive for what you get, but it does look very good once assembled. The metal ring is not stainless so it will deteriote over time and the top stones are only 2" thick and may crack/split in the winter. Only time will tell, but they did send 3 extra of these top stones which I'll keep around just in case. I'm not sure why they don't make this a "complete" kit with the adhesive and pea gravel. I added 3" of drainage rock under the pea gravel and an 18" deep 1ft diameter hole in the center full of drainage rock so there will be no water laying in the pit. Looks and works very well, but all together I've got about $650 into and that seems a little high to me.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great purchase I ordered the pit online and it arrived at the store on a skid. You will need either a pickup truck or will need to take a couple of trips. The stone wall comprises of 24 decorative stone blocks comparable in size/weight to a normal cinder block. Then there are 14 stone caps (2 extra). So there is a lot of weight here when transporting it. Building it is very simple and took my time to make sure I didn't cut any corners. Just follow the video instructions given on the HD site. Digging and leveling the base took the majority of the time due to some trial and error. No biggie. It called for 6 cubic feet of stone/gravel overall. I used 9 cubic feet in all and used pea gravel. Now comes the real work - building some landscape around the pit. This pit is sturdy and should hold up over time. Happy with my purchase.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The firepit is beautiful and looks stunning in the yard The delivery was great and came on a pallet which we can now burn. I would have given 5 stars except the directions were not great - sentences were just left off. Instead of it taking 1 hr to build it took 3 and we had to go back to Home Depot to get Concrete Adhesive and pea stones for inside the pit. We have had 2 metal firpits in the past and they each only lasted a year due to rusting out, so we decided to go onto the stone. Well worth it!!!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good fire pit but lacking available spark screen As others stated, this was a fairly easy fire pit to build. The ring is a couple inches away from the stone, so best to buy about 10 bags of pea gravel to backfill. The main concern so far is the lack of any real available spark screen. I've not had luck finding anything reasonably priced anywhere for such a large diameter. I have to make something myself but it's not as nice as the real thing. If someone finds a reasonably priced screen, please let us all know. In the meantime, be warned that this is a really big downside to this unit.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Looks good and very functional. Good product and fairly easy to assemble. Only suggestion- it would have been helpful if the product stated how much gravel and concrete adhesive was necessary. I ended up making an addtional trip to Home Depot for additional stone for base and fill.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great looking fire pit if you don't look too close Received the fire pit components on a pallet on time by Etes trucking company. We were able to assemble it in about two hours on a 70x70 concrete pad that we had poured about 4 days before. Alligning everything and picking out which blocks we wanted on the first and second rows based on how they looked took a little time, but we all know how our wives are about things like that. As indicated we received two extra blocks for the top in case there was shipping damage. There wasn't any damage but some of them looked better than others due to pin head size holes across some of the surfaces. We ended up using twelve 50lb bags of gravel, much more than we expected, but you can see how that looks in the attached picture. Will definitely be enough to protect the concrete pad and the stones on the sides. The only complaint we had was that some of the stones in the first and second row really need some touch up so they don't look like cinder blocks. You can see that in the picture. A spray of some kind that you could use to cover the gray cinder blocks to make it all brown would really help the final look of the fire pit. Over all we are very pleased with how the final product looks and will be having our first fires in it this weekend in the Poconos.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A fire pit worth the extra money If you have a big enough area for almost a 70" pit, this one is for you. Simple instructions and the finished product looks great. The hardest part is getting a level surface. If you don't do this, you will have gaps between the blocks. Once everything is level, the blocks simply go next to each other with the capping stones for the finishing touch. The inner ring with pea gravel keeps the radiant heat in the pit. You can put your feet up on the cap stones without your shoes melting. They are cool to the touch. We can fit 8 full size chairs around this comfortably with small tables between each chair for drinks. The only downfall on this pit is that you will need a lot of wood for the size. My wife gave in and allowed me to get a chainsaw (bonus). Overall, I am extremely happy with the product. It took me about 3 hrs by myself to assemble from start to finish.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Description doesn't mention the ring size of 44 inches The ring size is 44 inches, like the Random Stone version, but that is not clear from the description. The kit was relatively easy to build because I watched the video, which is quite clear. The thickness variations in the stone caps makes them seem a bit lop-sided, and I had to rearrange them quite a lot before I was happy. Otherwise the top surface would not be very flat. One side of the stone cap is thicker than the other in many cases.
