Used a replacement for a cap that blew off in a storm. This one will remain intact. A little clear silicone under the band will ensure this.Perfect fit

Adjustable versa cap was an excellent purchase for our needs, its variable adjustments are perfect for different size stacks, it was well worth the purchase.

As another poster commented, be sure to fit the sleeve at the end of the chimney; otherwise you'll block the vent. The bolts provided to adjust the mounting sleeve had slot heads - if you are like me, you will prefer a Philips or Robertson head when you are kneeling on your rooftop on a dark, cold wet afternoon attaching this unit. Added a screw through the sleeve into the chimney for more secure installation.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by carlsson Excellent replacement cap
These are versatile replacement caps for missing or damaged furnace stacks or range hood stacks from 5 to 7" OD. They also make a 3 to 5 inch and a 7 to 9 inch. It is very difficult to find the exact replacement cap as each pipe manufacturer makes slightly different designs that are not very interchangeable, and older homes frequently have pipe outside diameters that no longer are made, so this cap will fit any pipe with OD from 5 to 7 inches. Aluminum construction is important as water vapor is one of the main exhaust products vented through the stacks, and even galvanized steel caps will rust eventually.

Anyone can install this product. Some other Furnace vent caps require a HVAC tech to remove and install. Versa caps have been in use for years. When installing "The Versa cap" make sure you leave room(space) between the top of the stack and the top of the Versa cap. If you push down on the cap when installing and cut of the air flow you will burn out the furnace or it could force the furnace exhaust into the house. Very bad. More space is better.
