Home Depot #202286686 / AFC #8015-HD liquidtight housing is 1/2" in diameter and with 10 gauge wires. We also offer Home Depot #202286687 / AFC #8017-HD which is 3/4" in diameter and with 8 gauge wires.

If each of the whips contains the same conductor size, number of conductors, and wire type, then they each have the same electrical rating. Regarding their “safe use” with a dual element 4500 watt Hot Water heater; it depends on the voltage and current requirements of the water heater. Regarding their “safe use” with a dual element 4500 watt Hot Water heater; it depends on the voltage and current requirements of the water heater. The Manufacturer’s instruction for the water heater should be consulted for the proper size and type and/or temperature rating for the electrical supply conductors. Sku 219076 is pictured and listed incorrectly on HD.com as this should be a STEEL Armor and steel fittings (and not liquid-tight) and we will update this immediately. Sku 229541 is truly a liquid-tight armor with LT fittings. Read Less

Cutting length

I was examining the package in my local HD store today. They did not have the 4' lengths available. It appears that the longer lengths can simply be cut down. to whatever size I need is that correct? .

That is correct. You can cut the material to length, and adjust the fitting to the cut end.
