This is a great way to refinish a normal, worn garage floor! Instructions mention pressure washing the concrete surface to clean/rough it up which I did, but it also mentions etching the floor too (which I didn't). However, the concrete in my townhouse is old enough though that I think the pressure washer removed/roughed up the surface enough. All I can say is this product turns out beautiful and even without flecks or a gloss hardener finish, it looks amazing! Really takes my garage from a normal, used look to completely brand new and high tech! Applied two coats with 2 hours between each coat in full length strokes (first coat leaves paint lines, second coat totally blends everything together). Hoping that the finish will hold up over time - regardless, super impressed with how it turned out! Highly recommend!

Clean, clean, clean, etch, etch, etch are my words of wisdom. When painting cement around your house you need make sure it is power washed with cleaner and etched with a cement etching solution. Once that is done properly, this Dover Stain/Primer will work excellent. It goes on easy and really makes the bottom half of your house stand out. I have quite a bit of exposed foundation and this really spruced it up for me. The grey is a really nice color and will match most siding. I highly recommend the Dover stain, but keep in mind the important steps before applying this product.

This cement paint seems to apply very easily. The paint is pretty thin, so don't try to apply one thick coat. It's going to take at least 2 or 3. I applied 2 to my front porch which has a rough surface, and for good measure I'll do a 3rd. I've had to lightly scrub the surface because it got some mud on it between coats, and I noticed that the paint scrubbed off in spots. I didn't use the cement cleaner and etcher as recommended on the can, so maybe this is my own fault? I did clean the cement and power spray it. Over all it applies evenly and the color turned out to be more of a robins egg blue than a gray in my case. It's still an improvement over the splotchy dirty cement that was there before. I would recommend using the cleaner etcher. Also, it dries to a flat finish, if you want a shiny surface you need to buy a separate gloss top coat that's listed on the can. I'm wondering if I add the shiny top coat if it will also be more durable? I'm concerned it will wear off in spots within a year.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Salex Perfect for sprucing up a utility room
This is the first concrete stain/paint product I've ever used, and I am very happy with the results. The color and finish are beautiful. It definitely has a pale blue tint so it is not a totally neutral gray. The consistency is very thin, so I applied multiple thin coats to the floor of my utility room. Thanks to another reviewer's suggestions, I used a long-nap brush to get into all the imperfections in my concrete utility room's floor, and also used a brush for cutting in the corners. Overall I am very happy with the results - it looks much better and is easier to clean than a bare concrete floor! It has only been a week so I can't speak to the durability.

If you're thinking about painting concrete or block work, DON'T. Use ECLIPSE concrete STAIN. Paint will peel in sheets.
This product goes on easy, it's thinner than paint, so it's easy to work into voids and porous material such as concrete block.
The coverage is very good, unlike if you were to paint concrete. Probably one of the best features is it's soap and water cleanup.
Here's a tip: If you're going to use a roller, use a long nap (3/4"). This will ensure you get the voids and fill the porous block. I used a brush, which worked quite well.
I do not know how durable this product is, since I just applied it. I do intend to use Eclipse stain on my garage floor and exposed block on the interior of the garage when time permits.
The bottom line is, I really liked this concrete stain over a previous competitors product I used before.

I needed a concrete paint to use in my garage…my cats like to go outside, eat grass, and then vomit in the garage - lovely! It is a real challenge to remove these stains from the unfinished concrete, so I was hoping to find a product that would make wiping up spills and messes easy. This Eclipse stain/primer in one has done a great job of covering up the old stains. It was easy to apply with a thick-nap paint roller (which helps get the paint down into the cracks and tiny concrete holes). I used two thin coats and the product applied very evenly. It's still no fun to clean up the cat mess, but now it's much easier to wipe up!

1-gal. Dover Grey Eclipse Concrete Stain and Primer in One. The directions for the surface prep and application are very clear. It is always good to have the same company offer their own product for cleaning and etching so you know that formulas are compatible. The instructions for surface preparation are very clear. A little care and patients and this product will stay as applied. If you decide to short cut and hurry make sure you own foot will reach your backside. This product can give you good results and you will be pleased with your efforts.
