Customer Reviews

Smartlink 13 in. Plug Aerator is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 16.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from OK, but not great. I have tried my aerator twice so far. Yes, it pulls out plugs, but not full-sized plugs like a professional machine could do (even weighted down with 5 or 6 cement blocks). Maybe if the soil is totally saturated, it would work better. I liked the fact that I could also use a dethatcher with the same base to save space, but I have not been overly impressed with that feature either. Maybe my lawn doesn't have a lot of thatch, or maybe the dethatcher is just not great. Obviously, doing it yourself, will save you money, but as always, you get what you pay for.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love the idea of interchangeable items, BUT I love the idea of interchangeable item such as this. It works well but took some time to get the weight I needed on top correct to get it to work smoothly. Once I figure that out it worked like a charm and the best part is that I don;t have a bunch of individual systems around. One one draw back would be the cost to start off and the cost of the individual items but if you can get by this it is worth it. The construction is by far better then individual items. In my mind it will out last anything you put up against it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid Aerator Bought this along with the master platform. Instructions were poor. Shows the bolts holding the plug spears backwards. Would clog the plugs. Had to reverse them all. Also missing 8 5/16" lock washers. I have stock so no big deal. I loaded 80 lbs on it and it pulled plugs like mad. Have to go slow and lift on turns. With the weight it's difficult to lift. Overall did a great job. Don't think this is light duty. Very heavy and strong. Well built.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Super Features I bought this last fall. The boxes it came in were damaged and parts were missing. Whoever the woman I spoke to at Agri-Fab could not have been more helpful. I am cautious about using the aerator because I could not get a bracket to hold place on the tray.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does a great job! Works great with two concrete blocks for weight. Was very careful to follow instructions attaching plug tubes but had to remove and reinstall carriage bolts since enclosed paper instructions are the reverse of the online video instructions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Aerator!!! I bought the Master Platform with Aerator in 2012. It does great on my 1/2 acre lawn. Years past I rented aerators always felt rushed getting them back in a 4 hour time frame. Now I can do my lawn maintenance with ease. There's nothing like doing a good job and taking your time doing a good job. I like to aerate my lawn twice a year and in years past lucky to do it once every 2 years. Well worth the money and easy to store it. I also have De-thatcher, Roller, and Turf Shark Aerator.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Replacement tongue for my plug aereator 40" I bought this 40" plug aereator back in the spring 2004 and use it annually on my 2+acre lot. It does a great job. I have four cement blocks on it for weight. This is my first repair in 11 years. Great to be able to still get parts at a reasonable cost, with just a phone call and receive them in a few days. Thanks much!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pretty Good I bought this at the same time I bought the base unit. All the parts were there, nothing missing, generally well packed. Instructions were pretty non existant. Theres a drawing with parts exploded but thats it. Assembly was fairly straigtforward after you took the time to figure out their drawing. They could have made it easier with a few tips, but they didnt. Do yourself a favor to speed up assembly, have a 1/2 inch socket handy, its the basic tool, youll need to put it together faster. Once I started it, it worked for about 10 feet then fell apart. The pin for the end tab is melted together so you have to split the tabs to put one in and one out of the hole. Fortunately I had a better linch pin available, so I used it. For $80 youd think theyd put a little better one in. As far as the performance, it was great. Pulled up one inch plugs all over the yard. Worked great, very pleased. I'm wondering how long it will be before my neighbors who are paying $200 a year to get aeriated ask me to do it.
