Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Casey Best toilet ever!
I recently purchased this model for my basement bathroom and was surprised how easy it was to install as this is only the 2nd toilet I installed. This one is great as the tank won't sweat like the one it replaced and uses 1/4 of the water the old one used. I'm glad I saw this one!

Very easy installation of this toilet in a home that is over 70 years old. Can't wait to not see water on the flor under the tank due to condensation.

I had a toilet that always had a lot of condensation on the tank every winter.. The water pipes under my condo must not be insulated. I had all kinds of people tell me how to resolve this problem. Finally I thought I would try the lined toilet. Yay it works. No more water dripping on the bathroom floor. I don't have to wash so many towels too.

This is by far one of the best toilets out there. The ease of installation, absolutely no tools needed. They provide you with everything. Low water usage, yet strong flushing action. Looks great nice height. Took less then 1 hour to install that included removal of old toilet. The only thing extra you may need is a new water line. The slow closing lid is a nice feature also. Worth the money.

This toilet came with all the tools to install this. It was very simple to handle the installation and has good flushing power. The seat sits slightly higher than a standard toilet seat and includes the slow close lid. A great deal!!

We have very cold well water so needed an insulated toilet tank, thus our choices were somewhat limited when shopping for a replacement. I am 5'2' and I sit on tiptoe with this popular "comfort height" toilet. Also, the elongated seat is huge. Anyone with small children in the house would not want to consider this at all. In the store, the displays are all 10 feet in the air so it is nearly impossible to judge the actual size. I do not recommend this product.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by edieb another quality product from American Standard
I always thought a toilet is a toilet is a toilet...there was no real difference among them. WRONG!!! This CADET 3 FLOWISE is something else again. When they said “no tools” installation, that is exactly what it was. Everything needed was included in the packaging even the wax ring and two plastic cones for tightening the floor bolts. The only problem was the fitting for the existing water line had to be replaced. The Cadet 3 is taller than the toilet that it replaced but the biggest differences are the power of the flush with much less water and the toilet seat that is very light weight and “floats” down to close. The tank is lined with styrofoam which is part of it's Water-Sense certified design. The bowl is deep enough and easy to clean. I am very impressed with this toilet and with it's manufacturer, American Standard. It's obvious there has been a lot of time and effort invested into a product that truly has the best interest of us DIYers at heart!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Camano Easy to install with included "tool-free" tools
I got this toilet in order to replace an older 1.6 GPF unit with this 1.28 GPF unit. It comes complete with seat and installation hardware, including a wax ring.
There are a number of interesting features to this toilet. The first thing I noticed is that the tank is lined with 1/2" styrofoam. This might be to reduce the tank volume or to prevent sweating.
Next, the instructions advertise the installation as being "no tools required". This is accomplished by using plastic thumb nuts for securing the toilet to the floor - no washers required. The caps just fit over the nuts, saving 50% of the normal parts. There are two plastic "deep sockets" that are used for tightening the tank and seat bolts. They come with the tank bolts preinstalled so I didn't have to fumble around under the tank to get them started. The seat nuts are "zip nuts" - you can push them on and then tighten by hand.
Finally, the seat has adjustable oblong washers to position it front-to-back. Hopefully these will keep the seat from skidding around like my older toilet did.
Installation was straightforward, simplified by not having to struggle with screwdrivers and socket wrenches. The toilet sat level without any shimming. The slow-closing seat closes pretty slowly, taking maybe 6 seconds. The instructions were easy to read and understand.
I noticed a few pinhead-sized defects in the finish that won't be noticeable from a couple of feet away. The included wax ring was deformed in transit, so I had to replace it.
