Answer:
It has a 15 year warranty, it does not specify home or commercial use. When I called with a warranty claim, they did not ask me how I use it (home or commercial) so I don't think they make a distinction or care.
I will tell you that in my experience it is not strong enough for commercial use. I recommend you get one with heavier duty tines and a high quality hardwood handle.

This bow rake would work well turning compost. Another good tool for this job is a fork like item # 2826300.

Answer:
I don't turn compost, however I don't see why not it wouldn't work well, it a heavy duty rake. So unless your planning on a commercial operation it should work out fine.

I would.think it would be perfect for turning compost. I use this rake to turn over the dirt in my garden. This rake is not
flexible like a leaf rake. I hope this helps you. Good luck.

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.2 out of 5 by 129 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Failed after about 3 years, replaced under warranty A good quality light to medium duty bow rake. Not for commercial or heavy use. It is listed as fiberglass, but it is wooden, with a fiberglass wrapper over the wood handle, it is not solid fiberglass- at least at the tine end. The bow (metal tine) end of the rake will flex and bend if you push or pull too hard and if you use a chopping motion to loosen clods of dirt. After about 3 years of ownership and moderate use (raking and leveling dirt and pushing mulch around the garden), the wood under the fiberglass sheath failed at the end where the metal rake portion (tines) enters, and the fiberglass split. Good news is the 15 year warranty. I called the number that was still on the label on the rake handle, the call lasted all of 3 minutes- received clear concise instructions to photograph the rake, labels and damage and e-mail them to the address given to me. I am currently awaiting the replacement to arrive. This company has a great warranty that they honor without hesitation. July 28, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by This a very sturdy rake. I like that the it is double-edged for smoothing out areas. October 25, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice heavy-duty rake The rake appears to be solidly made and I expect it will last a good many years. I couldn't tell from the picture online, but the rake actually is double sided. One side has the traditional deep prongs that can dig down to loosen dirt, and you can flip the rake over to use the other side which consists of shallow tines that serve well for spreading and leveling. I also like the idea of the fiberglass handle - no more splinters from wooden ones. September 29, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Great value I purchased this rake to help level 12 yards of gravel for a parking area by my shop. It did not disappoint in that it was sturdy enough to withstand the stress of raking and leveling the gravel over a 900 sq. ft. area. The back tines worked great to level and the longer tines dug into the larger piles to move them. .The fiberglass handle is stronger than my wooden handled garden rake which was not cutting the mustard. A great value, too, as it was on sale! September 20, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Sturdy, Easy to Handle Garden Rake Spent the day adding fill dirt to a large (soon to be flower) bed, breaking up the clumps and smoothing it out using my new garden rake (replaced an older rake that was rusted and with the tines not properly welded to the handle). It was great! Got a lot accomplished, and the rake performed beautifully. September 27, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great Rake better than the metal rakes I've had in the past. less noisy and slides well on grass or conrete for leaf raking. Covers a nice width of space October 14, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by 16-TINE DOUBLE PLAY BOW RAKE WITH FIBERGLASS HANDLE Perfect weight and length. Like the shorter side for removing large pieces of debris and smaller rocks in soil, Don't have to worry about a wooden handle since its made with a strong fiberglass shaft. September 23, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good rake at an affordable price Not much to say. Its a rake. Light weight but no issues. Appears to be good quality, October 4, 2016
