Work for Gibraltar High Grove Mailbox?

Would the Gibraltar High Grove Mailbox Model (#HM16LC01 / Internet #203630498 / Store SKU #629561) fit on this post?
Asked by: sunnymonkey
The bolt hole pattern on this post is 4 x 10, it also includes an adapter plate that fills the false bottom for Architectural Mailboxes. You will need to confirm that the Gibraltar mailbox bolt hole pattern will work with this post's bolt hole pattern.

Do only mailboxes of the same brand fit this post?

I see in some reviews that standard mailboxes do not fit this post, that you must use a box made by this manufacturer. Has anyone had a different experience and used a different brand box? If so, what size?
Asked by: maddie3260
Hello, the elephantrunk is a parcel drop box. You will need to check with your local post office to confirm they will allow this unit to be used as a mailbox.

Please provide the dimentions of the mounting platform.
Asked by: PMac
Thank you for your inquiry. Yes, this post works with all Architectural Mailboxes' 5500 series mailboxes. The support bracket dimensions are 20.6 in. L x 3.5 in. W x 6.9 in. D. The adapter plate dimensions (which attaches to the mailbox and the adapter plate attaches to the support bracket) are 16.7 in. L x 6.7 in. W x 1.7 in. D. Compatible with Mailbox Manager

Dear Madam or Sirs, I need to know if this will fit Mailbox Manager security mailbox by Mailboss? The hole pattern is 4" wide by 10" long for this mailbox. This mailbox is also 17 3/4 inches long and 10 3/4 inches wide, but the front area has a ridge underneath from the door hinge, which is 3 1/4 inches from the front first holes. So, another question I have is the space between the hole to the front on this Post more than 3 1/4 inches? One more question I have is does this post go into cement and if so how many inches is recommended? Thank you!
Asked by: Missy
Thank you for your inquiry. The 5515 Decorative In-ground post is designed to work with traditional style mailboxes, specifically Architectural Mailboxes' post mount mailboxes. The post models 7505, 7507, 5105 and 5106 would be a better solution for the type of mailbox mentioned. The 7505, 7507 and 5105 are in-ground posts which require digging a hole, placing the post inside and back filling with concrete. The 5106 post is a surface mount post that requires bolting to a concrete pad or hard surface. You may also consider the 6215, which is similar to the Decorative In-ground post, but the mailbox would mount to the side of the post. If you have additional questions regarding posts and installation requirements, please contact the post manufacturer at 800-464-7491 or info@architecturalmailboxes.com.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from High Quality Mail Post This Mail Post was purchased to replace one that a neighbors tree fell and destroyed. It is solid forged and extruded aluminum, so it should never rust. For the price I paid (on-sale for ~50%), it was a Good deal, but at full price, I would lower the Value to Average.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Overall a very good product, sturdy with nice detail Overall a very good product, sturdy with nice detail. However, the product description nor the instructions do not explain that a standar size mailbox will not fit the support arm, you must install a wide mailbox that has screw holes located in the correct positions. A standar size mail does not fit at all.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Doesn't work with newspaper box The post is sturdy and attractive. However, it won't work with mailboxes from other manufacturers, and it doesn't work well with a newspaper holder (even from Architectural), because the arm sticks out much further than the newspaper box and looks odd (extra screw holes are in the part sticking out). I spent several hours making another brand's mailbox & newspaper holder (I don't like Architectural's mailbox styles) fit on the Architectural post. It still looks a little odd because I mounted the newspaper holder towards the front so the arm only sticks out 1 inch it, but that makes a 3.5 inch gap between the newspaper holder and the post (below the mailbox). I have no complaints about the post itself -- just the difficulty in making it work with a newspaper box and other brand mailbox.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid post The post is very solid and coordinates well with the matching mailbox. I even got a compliment from the mailman -- "nice mailbox!"

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Coronado Mailbox and Decorative post Sturdy and very attractive in its simplicity. Delivery was right on Home Depot's projected date. My husband assembled, dug the hole and poured the concrete so all that went very easily for me. The assembly required no swear words from him, so I gather directions were straight forward and in some comprehensible language and format. EVERYONE who has seen our new mailbox setup has been most admiring of it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Product Well made, looks beautiful. Easy installation with Architectural Mailbox. Only complaint is the cheap screws for securing the decorative top. One went in crooked and started to strip, I tightened some and the screw head just broke off.
