Product Overview

The BEHR Premium Protector and Waterproofer is an interior/exterior coating designed to penetrate the surface up to 1/2 in. This product provides a natural clear finish and has a 10 Year Guarantee. This waterproofer creates a barrier inside the surface that keeps water out but allows trapped water vapors to escape; reducing corrosion, spalling, efflorescence and freeze-thaw damage. The protection is not worn away with normal use. It protects long after the water beading is gone. Ideal for use on horizontal and vertical uncoated concrete and masonry surfaces such as: concrete block, pavers, stucco, brick, unglazed tiles, exposed aggregate concrete, sandstone and slate.

Customer Questions & Answers

Will this keep water from seeping into concrete

Asked by: vin
Hello vin, Great question. Yes, our Protector and Waterproofer would keep the water from seeping into the concrete. However, we would only recommend using it on bare concrete. Best regards, Kevin

What is the finish like with this? I have an interior brick wall and would like to keep the matte look.

Asked by: mike
Hi mike, Thanks for your question! The Protector & Waterproofer soaks into the surface, so it may darken the color of the surface, but the finish is flat (or matte). Best wishes for your project! -Sara

1 gal. Protector and Waterproofer is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 20.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Couldn't have been easier! Just sprayed it onto a 1400 sf concrete floor with a weed sprayer. Took very little time and it works great!!! Took only a day to really be dry. Highly recommend and will use again if needed on something else. Whoever says it's hard to apply...I can't even think of how this would be! It is soooo easy! Rated 5 out of 5 by from So far, very good. I applied this product to my parents pavers and so far, it seems to be working very well. It only had half a summer use so long term quality is yet to be determined. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy product to use I was looking for a good product at a reasonable price. I went to my local Home Depot and Ken, who was at the paint department, recommended the product. It was easy to apply. I used a sprayer and back rolled it with a 3/8 nap roller. It is very important that you ensure the surface is clean. I was concerned as we got unexpected rain within 24 hours, but the product seems to have held up. The water immediately beaded of the driveway. Overall, I am happy with the product. I will have to wait until next year to see how it holds up. I live in NC and the sun hits my driveway for the majority of the day. I am avoiding parking my vehicles on the driveway for at least 48 hours. So far, fairly satisfied with the product. By the way, this product does not change the color of the cement when dry. Rated 5 out of 5 by from worked great Applied 10 gallons to over 2,000 sq ft of hard scape: concrete patio with slate border and concrete wall caps. Used professional grade equipment: power washer to clean and sprayer to apply. Used 2 coats. Looks great after 1 month following high heat and rain. I recommend using a sprayer not roller. I used rollers in the past with other sealers and its messy, does not apply evenly and just does not look good. I hired an experienced painter (did my house) to spray on the sealer. It was worth paying the extra money for this skill. I still saved tons $$ compared to the quotes I was getting from "professional" concrete sealing contractors.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Product does the job ! Used in 2011 on a New England concrete patio/slab that has traffic, furniture, and direct sun. Pressure washed surface totally clean....Rolled stuff on surface appearing clear/wet, dries to an even coating that is not glossy or slippery when wet. Now a year later (2012) following a mild winter it held up very well. Using on another property walkway based on performance and price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Working well after two years Used this product on a brick chimney and façade, still beading water and looks GREAT after two years of Midwest weather extremes. Better than anything I have tried in the past.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This stuff works! Thought I had a stubborn roof leak but it turned out to be a poorly constructed red brick chimney - - it had a water penetration problem. Water was percolating through the mortar - - eventually damaging my ceiling and walls inside. This product went on easily - - 2 coats applied with an inexpensive garden sprayer - - it soaked right in - - it did not change brick color and it did not damage or discolor my asphalt shingle roofing. Since applying we've had multiple heavy rains - - problem solved.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good for indoor concrete floor We have a four-seasons room where the carpet was torn up a year ago due to flood damage. With four dogs, the smell in that room can build up and concrete will soak up the smell. We used this product to seal the floor, and it was successful at removing the legacy smells and so far at preventing anything new. I was shocked at two things...1) the consistency of this is like taking a half gallon of skim milk and mixing it with half a gallon of water. It is much thinner than I expected. 2) It will cause water to bead up. With that said, I applied this with a concrete brush. I didn't expect the thin consistency otherwise may have sprayed. However I really think the spray would not have covered as well. I also think it would have been more of a mess inside with the walls.
