Customer Reviews

Rated 2.1 out of 5 by 11 reviewers.
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by needs some improvement Bought mower to clear brush areas that the rotary cutter could not get to. Pros: Strong engine, If material to be cut enters the mower deck area it does a great job. No bogging down. Dual hydrostatic drives allow maneuvering without alot of muscle power although this is still a big heavy machine. Fairly quiet. Cons: Needs bigger tires. Traction is suboptimal when trying to mow over densely packed brush. Mower belt will not stay on pulley despite replacing belt and retaining clip. Hard to replace in the field as access to pulley is below muffler which stays hot and drive pulley is below motor which is nearly closed in by support structures. December 27, 2010
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Very Poor product returned to Home Depot (Thank-You Home Depot!) after 11.0 hours of run time. The *only* good thing about this mower is that it can really destroy a small tree. The problem is that you don't get much chance to actually *use* the mower. The belt came off almost every time the blade was disengaged, and you have to risk serious burn from the exhaust to try to put the belt back on. The mower was constantly getting stuck due to the rigid design, heavy weight, and the lack of traction control. The forward/reverse controls became a problem after only a few hours of use. No clearance. Bad customer support. Bad manual. October 4, 2011
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Machine The Beast is Great. It Lived up to all Expectations & More. Quiet - Heavy Duty - Large gas tank so you can go for hours without refilling Does exactly what it states it does Claims of belt problems are really just Operator problems. There is a knack for its handling which has to be learned but that takes no time at all. I cleared 4.5 Acres of high brush & trees with this Machine in a matter of hours. I've included a pic here of the top half & you'll see to the far left & right what the Beast chewed thru. Now it will take no time to retrim the rutty areas that the ride on mower can't do. The Beast Rep in Canada even called before shipping to see if we had any questions . Being an Online purchase this was very reassuring. Best Purchase Ever . September 2, 2012
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Needed adjustment out of the crate Battery needed to be replaced upon arrival. Forward and reverse contol needed adjustment. Dropped belt in first hour of operation. Debris gard on front torn and ripped in first minutes of operation. That being said if you are cutting high grass and small trees it is truly a great machine. It does blow through the heavy stuff but it will give you a workout. November 19, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Great when it works The Brush Beast is a heavy powerful machine that has the abitlity to get the job done. However, God forbid that it ever needs parts or maintenance. The belt falls of frequently and one must wait for the muffler to cool of to avoid getting a serious burn. The muffler should be moved. Still with the belt ordering a replacement belt will take weeks rather than days. Worst yet. If you need major parts like a wire harness or replacement hydpr pin. The wire harness arrived after four weeks of calling and aggrevation only to find out it was made the wrong harness. They claim it is the correct model but the connectors were the wrong type. I'm still waiting. Another unfortunate fault is the poor service center. Most have never seen the machine nor they have any parts available to service them. I would give the machine much better rating if the techniccal support and parts were more readily available because when it is working. It does a great job November 12, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by This product is not uasable. The product does not have enough traction to pull it through the terrain it was designed to cover. The drive belts started slipping within 10 minutes and it got stuck several times within 15 minutes of use. The machine is too heavy for the wheels. It does not have enough traction to puysh over a 3 inch sapling that it was designed to cut. April 30, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by This product is an animal Biggest problem. Keeps throwing the belt. Finally figured out if I slow the throttle down to idle before disengaging the blade the belt stays on... but threw it evertime it was disengaged before that. Pretty tough machine but not meant for rough terrain, which is where my brush is. Tires are undersized thus gets stuck and reguires some real elbow grease to free it up. Cuts through anything once it is on track... September 1, 2011
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by the drive belts came off 2 times in1st couple of hours battery came dead and the tires are to small engine blades general build of product great customer service responded immediately i would buy new battery they would send the money and arranged to have belt put on at nearby dealer they where great June 19, 2012
