As pictured, the door is on the left side. Can the doors be placed on the same wall, but on the right side? Not the gabled end, as in the elm model.
thanks

Answer:
Yes, the door placement can be changed. It is just a matter of reversing the framing.

Answer:
Absolutely. Simply reverse the framing prior to applying siding. It can also be placed center of the 12 ft. wall.

Answer:
Tandy,
2-3 people can erect the shed itself, ready to paint and shingle, in less than 2 days.
I cannot answer accurately about site preparation as this depends entirely on how much work and method you will use to level the area to place the floor system upon. If you simply have to level the ground by using a rake, shovel and gravel you will have several hours of work involved.

Would it be possible to install two sets of doors on one 12 ft side?

I would like to store a motorcycle with side car on one side, and have access to lawn/garden tools on the other side. Would not need to open both sets of doors at the same time, so doors could be set very close together.

No problem for me modifying the wall design, just need to know if it would be structurally sound.

Answer:
Greg,
To have 2 large openings on the 12' wall there wouldn't be sufficient support for the roof. Also the width is not wide enough to allow for the framing of 2 sets of doors when considering door and corner trim.

Is it possible to insulate this shed and add electricity and perhaps a small air conditioner so I could put a TV and couch in here? I'm worried about moisture. Thanks!

Answer:
You may insulate the walls but the doors have no way to be insulated. Installing electricity can be done but you should first check with your local permit office to make sure you meet their requirements.

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.0 out of 5 by 5 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great shed Very easy to build, the precut wood makes it very easy. Build and painted shed by myself on a Saturday and roofed it on Sunday. Just the right size very sturdy and looks great. November 9, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Quality shed I was impressed. The lumber is quality, the instructions are detailed on almost everything, and the finished product is coming together beautifully. One suggestion would be more screws and less nails for the construction. December 15, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent quality building kit Precision cut quality lumber made the construction process smooth & trouble free. Pleased that all fastners and hardware was included. Kit was missing one slide bolt. A quick call to Best Barns and the part was in my mailbox w/i 48 hrs. Built in 7 days. I am extremely pleased with this product!. May 12, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by If I buy a kit, the parts should fit Most of the precut lumber was warped, bent, split, or twisted and all of the uncut lumber was useless. Some trim pieces were missing and others were the wrong size. The only components usable as-is were the manufactured panels. Any convenience conferred by precut wood or letting someone else gather the materials was completely negated by the need to replace a full third of the supplied lumber; the rest had to be clamped/glued/screwed to achieve any functionality. (Which is not the assembly method described in the plans.) If you are at all handy, don't bother with a kit--find a good set of plans and CHOOSE YOUR OWN MATERIALS. To be fair, I did finally complete the shed and it is reasonably straight, square, and plumb. But only after a great deal more hassle than necessary. August 13, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Exactly what I wanted This Best Barn shed is a great DIY project. My wife and completed with about a week of work spread over 3 weeks. Nothing someone with some experience with hammering and sawing for "honey-do" projects can't handle. Having materials pre-cut, organized, and delivered with legible instructions is worth it. Inside height is great - allows me to walk around without bumping my head (I am 6'4"). Please note that finishing the roof of a 10'x12' shed will run about $250 to $300 additional (depending on material quality). August 15, 2012
