I have 2 Labs and want to get rid of small birds on my canopy over my deck (have already used bird spikes, they find other areas to perch and do their business on) But I want something that will not bother my dogs.

Answer:
I would be careful about using it too near to an area where dogs are penned or tied. As long as the dog is free to move away from the sound, it should be ok.

Answer:
Hi Geoff! The Balcony Gard will be a great solution for your canopy. Because ultrasonic frequencies are directional (think of how a laser shoots straight out) you will have the unit high enough away from the ground where your dog is. The frequencies will not bother nor be heard by your dog.

Answer:
Very young children may be able to detect a faint pitch if they are directly in front of the device. If your neighbor is complaining, that means the device is probably facing her yard. Please review our guidelines for using ultrasonic devices around neighbors on our company website, found here: http://www.bird-x.com/ultrasound-safety-pages-249.php

Answer:
Does she have wings and chirp? Just kidding. Per the unit instructions, it should be adjusted to the point humans can not hear it. If this is done properly the person doing the adjustment will not hear it, nor should the neighbor.

Answer:
I would think it wouldn't be effective with Canadian Geese. They fly cross country and land and stay in many different areas of relatively high and varying noise, adjacent to interstates, ponds in industrial parks Etc. Simply put, they are quite use to higher noise levels. That being said, I have never used it directly with Canadian Geese.

Rated 3.1 out of 5 by 38 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works great with hidden benefit Balcony Gard works very well. Birds were sitting on our deck railings and solar lights, every morning at sunrise. It required a 20 minute clean up every morning. I installed Balcony Gard just below the rain gutter line, of our porch, aimed at the deck. See deck pictures. The birds no longer choose to sit on the railings and solar lights. It works fantastic. See Deck picture. Added benefit and almost worth the cost alone, I have my Balcony Gard hard wired. They supply plenty of wire. As a result the red light is lit 24/7. It resembles a security alarm, motion detection system or perhaps live security video. May keep more than just birds off the deck. See deck at night picture. June 5, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Bird repeller I use it when I am out of the house as I am afraid of its effects on me. Will use it everyday to deter doves poking at the north eaves. The controls are inside the console. August 30, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Do not buy We have been using the product, tried different settings and the pigeons continue to ignore the device and just keep coming. August 2, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by It mostly worked I installed it at the handrail level. It worked perfectly at the window sill and hand rail level on my 6'x30' porch. It did not work on the keystone block above the windows at the 11' ceiling level. A 10" piece of bird repellant ribbon fastened to the ceiling in front of the keystone block fixed that small problem. My porch is now free of bird droppings. An owl and rubber snakes did not solve the problem. August 2, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Did not appear to work! I purchased 2 bird repellers, 1 for the front yard and 1 for my backyard. I used them for 3-4 weeks and I did not see a big difference in birds not coming around. July 5, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by I hope it works I hope it works... I have a hut in my backyard and a couple of pigeons are/were determined to set up house. I have a large life like owl, which they have actually landed near. I bought spikes, but they found the few spots the spikes didn't cover, I have predator eyes and they have flown into them and I sprayed the beams with WD 40 because I read they don't like it. Since I purchased the balcony guard I haven't found them in the hut, but I am still finding evidence they are stopping in for a quick visit. Only time will tell, but it is looking good so far... rubber snakes up in the rafters may be the next step, but my wife said no.... April 26, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by works great! The product worked great. We had an unusual situation where the birds were hitting our house...every window they would repeatedly bounce off of and leave their droppings. Plugged this in on the deck, and we haven't had the problem. May 24, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not working as expected - still have lots of birds in our pole barn Product was easy to install but has a limited range shorter than specified. May 25, 2016
