Tub is nicely coated, bottom is flat. About 3 months after we labored to install the tub I started to notice the water stands near the drain hole. It would not empty completely by it self. I had to kick the last of the water puddle toward the drain hole to almost empty the tub of water. Yes I plumed the tub but the built in bottom may contribute to the problem. I would recommend if the water would drain completely but the design causes the puddle and it bothers me every time I take a shower or bath. When not clean often the puddle leaves a noticeable ugly stain.

The tub looked great until a few months in, we are now seeing rust appear in streaks near the drain of the tub. I agree with a prior comment, it must be due to poor design or lack of an extra coat of sealer?

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by geistwolke Terrible design and poorly planned tub. Would never buy their product again.
The tub has a padded bottom that puts the correct slope, but the design is formed as if it did not exist. Following the instructions to the letter, verifying the ledger boards are in the correct position, make the tub look like it runs up hill. At the foot it sits on the subfloor, at the head it is 1.25" high. Fortunately I am putting down 1" of flooring which will still leave a gap.

I'm so disappointed. I spent hours looking at specs online, visiting stores, and on paper the Bootzcast Porcelain on steel tub with insulated backer and leveling pad seemed like the best choice hands-down. I rented a truck from HD and actually got one fresh off the delivery truck - it had not even made it onto the store shelf yet. Somehow I missed reading these reviews. My heart sank as I read them. I quickly removed the dozens of copper staples and had a look. It seems every issue that other reviewers mentioned, my tub has, plus one more very unsightly one (a prominent chip).
I could probably live with the wavy back edge, because the 1/2" cement board will span the gaps. And I could clean the overspray off. But I sure would never install a brand-new tub with a huge chip on the front. Very irritating. Does Bootz have anyone employed in QC? Apparently not.
Now I will have to rent a truck to return it.

After returning the first tub because of defects in the finish, the replacement was fine. Has apperance of cast iron without the weight

Make sure you check the finish out under good lighting (not a work light). This looked good to the installers when they picked it up, but when we got all the lights up there was a noticeable blue-ish line running across the tub bottom curve area. It obviously needed another coat of white. HD online said to go to the store where we picked it up, they told me to call the 888 # for BootzCast resolution. If that didn't work to come back and speak to a manager? I had someone else install it but they had no complaints.

We are using in a remodel with an existing tile floor. The actual bootzcast tub footprint is less than 30 inches, the apron steps inward below the design and doesn't come forward again. In our case this left an unacceptable gap to our existing tile. Also the front was bowed slightly either by design or flaw. Be aware that the front apron also seemed to be tapered so if you are tiling the sides to the floor your wall tile will need to be cut on an angle. Our tub also did have the bent tiling flange that other reviews had mentioned, we would have been able to adjust for this by trimming studs and adjusting the cement board. We ended up returning and going with another manufacturer to avoid the sizing issues.

The bath tub had no slip resistance coating, the flange was bent in two different places, it made difference in how the tile was installed. After my grandkids used the tub two times there is a permanent ring,it never looks clean. I used the recommended product bar keepers friend, it doesn't remove the ring. I cannot afford to have the tub removed and replaced although there is a 90 day in store warranty not to mention having to replace the tile also. I am very disappointed in home depot selling substandard merchandise.
