I'm a novice, if I want to build a cabinet would this be the correct tool to use? The directions call for a staple gun, same thing?

Answer:
Yes, this is the right tool because either tool would work but using this nailer would be easier to fill the nail hole of no larger then 1\8" verses 5/16" for the stapler dents.

Answer:
Hey Karen, a staple gun is a little different. I use my staple gun when reupholstering things such as a stool. If you are building a cabinet, then I would use this tool. I have used mine in tons of around the house projects and it has worked just fine.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by best for its catagory hi i have this gun for 2 months and it gets the job right first time  i used to had the portercable ridgid dewalt kobalt hitachi brad nailers and this is by far its best but as user manual says oil it everyday with proper oil in heavy use cases 2 times this thing puts the nail in all the way in soft or hardwood guy is saying that he cant put nail 1 1/2 nail in to 3/4 oak in my many cases i use hard woods and never had any problem yet even with 2 inch nails but also you gotta know how to operate the tools daily for long term use get bosch or go home   January 22, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not Good! I was excited about the possibilities of these new nailers so I bought both the 18 and 16 gauge nailers.  Neither is capable of sinking nails completely.  I tried increasing the air pressure to nearly 120 psi, tried different compressors and even switched hoses.  Thanks goodness I tested them before using them on finished work!  I am so disappointed with both purchases and can't believe unproven and unreliable technology is being released.  Frustrated to have to send both back and eat the shipping costs.  Buy another brand. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by awesome 16 gaauge finish nailer this nailer is awesome. it does what it's supposed to do and the sound as it does it is awesome! I love it. I recommend it to anybody doing trim work. January 6, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by 110 psi and counting. Bought this gun to replace a porter cable. I figured Bosch had figured out the air nailers but this one disappoints. The adjustment for the depth is average. The reload lever is above average. The air director is above average. A swivel air connector would have been a nice feature, Bostich crown stapler I recently purchased had one. The major flaw is this nailer will just not drive a 1.5" inch brad into 3/4 oak. I wasted money. I have cranked the regulator up too far for my comfort and still will not bond two pieces of oak. Flush possibly, but no consistent counter sinking. Soft materials obviously are easier to work with but I had hoped this product would have worked with hardwoods.  Porter cable I borrowed to see if it just can't be done, no, the Bosch nailer just can't do. Disappointed.  January 12, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by frustrating User manual is not available online (message was "could not be found") .Gun was purchased new from the store but without a manual on a weekend. Even with adjustments to the gun and to the air pressure the nails do not go in deep enough. had to manually sink every nail. Was used for mdf casings & last rows of hardwood flooring. The shroud around the driver should be removable for T&G flooring. very frustrating. Lightweight compact design, nice balance, easy to load & unload, looks good but... March 17, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice finish nailer This is the third size of nailer I have from Bosch. It worked well on the tasks I put it through. It is fairly light weight and easy to handle. Great features, as I have found in all their nailers I own. My main concern may be overcome with more time with the tool but I found the loading and unloading of nails to be somewhat clumsy. It could use a belt clip also. April 21, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by not what I expected It's light weight, and portable but for my trade as finish carpenter as soon I started setting nails a little faster it left them sticking out Not good for me. July 1, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Nails are never steep enough! The worst gun I have ever use. I would recommande a bostitch that is half the price. All plastic... if it falls from my pouch I think it will be completely destroyed. December 26, 2012
