My centering bit keeps separating from shank. The core bit is 8 years old with many different operators over the years. It will not sit all the way into the shank.

IS THIS A DRY OR WET CORE DRILL BIT AND WHAT IS THE CORE DRILLING DEPTH?

Thank you for your question. These are dry core bits. The usable drilling depth of the HC8055 is 17 inches, the overall length is 22 inches.
