There are vertical and horizontal lines that cross each other. The horizontal line will be projected at the same level as the unit and the vertical should have no problem reaching from floor to ceiling at a foot from the wall. Hope that is what you were asking.

Poky it's not clear exactly what you're asking about but if finding something to position the level up off the floor's your goal, look for an inexpensive camera tripod of some kind. That's what I use when there's nothing made of steel handy that the magnetic support accessory can be stuck onto.

Answer:
It has a small tripod but it's no tall enough for an 11" line. You could get a tripod for the top line but I doubt it would get small enough for the bottom line. You'll have to figure out a solution for any laser you get, though. If is always 11" you could simply make a wooden block to sit it on that's the right height and you've solved that problem. Then get a cheap lightweight tripod for the top line.

You can lock the laser and manually angle it, but you can't tell it a slope to automatically find it. I've painted slopes for ramps and fences by measuring an marking both ends, then used the laser to place pieces along the way.

Answer:
No. If you have a surveyors stick of some kind, you could figure out slope by checking change in height over a certain distance.
I did the drain pipes for my back yard that way and it was certainly good enough for that.

this laser can the lock to a fixed position then rotated to whatever slope you desire. Though if you're going to use that out side you will have to have a detector because the line is not bright enough to see outside. But if you wait till it gets dusk then you will be able to see it

Can you tilt it up higher and have it self level?

I used another level that you could tilt up on a tripod and it would self level at the height you pointed it at for a vertical line. I just bought this one and it seems you have to have it at the height you want the laser line to be. When I tilt it up it blinks, which means it is beyond its capability I guess...

It has to be within a certain range of level to self level. This is in the single digit degrees. That blinking is that you are at your max angle. To get a higher horizontal line, you need to raise the unit on a tripod. The vertical line covers everything thing I've needed with a low tripod.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not for outdoors Bought this one because it's for "Outdoor Use". I have a cat toy laser brighter than this...cloudy day, could not see lines beyond a foot. Works great indoors. July 12, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works like it should Easy to set up. Easy to figure out. Throws a nice bright line. July 19, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by NOT FOR OUTDOORS!!!! did not read reviews as I looked for product in store. This should be labeled "NOT FOR OUTDOOR USE!!!" Very poor labeling!!,, Deceptive as to it's possible uses!!!!! can't see laser - feet away on a cloudy day!!!!!!!!!!! July 28, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Well built laser with accessories The Bosch products have always had a stigma of being well designed and constructed. This product is a definite upgrade from its single point baby brother. Worth the extra $100. I use it, commonly, for lighting layouts in ceilings (recessed lights, multiple pendant location) when they are all in the same plane. July 12, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Magnets eventually fall off. Magnets fall off . And it's rendered floor operation only .pretty sad have been looking for replacement magnet and not able to find them. June 30, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Cheap mount Laser works fine but the magnets fall out of the mount constantly. Once both magnets are lost you are left with a perfectly good but uselesslevel. May 16, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Impressive Laser The coverage of the laser is amazing. If you set it up on one wall it projects a line that almost entirely covers the other three walls. The beam is really bright making it easy to see and if you don't have the laser in the acceptable level range it pulses on and off to warn you. It projects a horizontal and vertical line at the same time or projects the two lines individually. This device is ideal for installing moldings, pictures and cabinets for the home owner. It has endless uses for construction with its long range capabilities. I recommend this laser and also suggest getting a tripod for it. It makes using it much easier. July 4, 2013
