Customer Questions & Answers

Can this be used to extend waterline?

I'm getting new bathroom countertop, faucet and sink. I'm putting the faucet to the side of the sink, not the traditional way at the back of the sink. In case the hot/cold supply lines of the faucet are not long enough to reach the valves, can I use this to extend the supply lines? In the specs diagram -- 1-½" Max at the base of the faucet, at the end of supply line is ½" IPS Connections. Thank you.
Asked by: HouseCat
No, you'll just need to obtain the proper lenght for each supply. I had this situation on a custom vanity. Used a 16" for hot and a 24" for cold. Hope this helps.

Are these as sturdy and long lasting as the braided steel ones?

I don't want to end up replacing these again within a couple of years.
Asked by: Strebor
I'm going to only guess that the stainless steel braided ones would be more resistant to damage and would certainly have more strength if water pressure was extremely high or the hose is exposed to sharp objects while in use. But I seriously doubt the water pressure would ever be so high as to burst either polymer or stainless lines anyway, also since these are usually under cabinets, there should be very little chance of becoming damaged by sharp objects. I've used these for years and have yet to have any problems. Fast and simple to hook-up, the price is nice, quality is very good, hoses have been strong and durable for all my uses so far.

3/8 in. Compression x 1/2 in. FIP x 12 in. Braided Polymer Faucet Connector is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 111.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to Install, LQQKs Great, Well Made, Nice Price.... the price is very pleasing, installations was easy, fast and simple. The products seems well made and no sign of leaks anywhere. Though getting the exact size is a must. I would recommend measuring the distance needed or take your old one (if replacing it) with you to buy the new one. I highly suggest buying the next larger size, for instance....if you need a 16" line then buy the 20".....the reason -- if you decide later on to remodel the sink, like going to a longer cabinet and the faucet is moved further away from the supply, then this extra length will already be there and ready. Pro's: good quality, easy to install, low price, looks good. Cons: nothing to mention yet

Right fit to my hot water line under the sink (the old one need to replace was metal). It's funny that I can not find it at Home Depot at first. I have to order online and pick it up at the store later.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from 8 out of 26 supply lines leaked over time I purchased 26 of these supply lines in various lengths at Home Depot when we built our new house, thinking they were a premium product. I had 3 of them leak within 24 hours of installing, and took them back for replacements. I had another one leak after 3 months in an upstairs bathroom which we discovered when the laundry room ceiling started dripping. I replaced that one. We agonized over whether to change out the whole house, but after checking 26 of them regularly for a couple months and having no further leaks, decided it was just a few bad apples. Now, a year after the initial installation, we discovered water damage on our dining room ceiling from another upstairs sink, and when checking the whole house again, I found 4 more with slow drips. All 8 leakers failed at the crimp joint between the braided steel hose and upper fitting. At this point, I'm changing out the whole house to the simple grey plastic supply lines. So much for a premium product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fits most stop (valve) to faucet applications Well made connector assy, good seal to stops and faucet without excessive tightening needed. Looks like stainless steel wrap on exterior in picture, but it is plastic as indicated in description. Significant (~30%) savings on web purchase compared to same item in store with free shipping to store.
