I am a electrical contractor that does many service calls on residential and commercial buildings. I Like the cadet heaters as they are quite easy to install. I've had many customers request them. They will heat up your home quite quickly. Just make sure to size the heater based on the square footage. Each heater has a guide on the box that will show you how many watts will be needed for the square footage of your room. Also figure if you want a wall T stat or a cadet with the T stat on it. I have made the mistake of buying cadets that didn't have a T stat built in when i needed the cadet with the built in T stat. Its in small print on the box and can be easily missed. Otherwise this is a great effective heater.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great heater After years of buying space heaters, the last one caught on fire, I ran across the cadet heater. I looked at the video on YouTube that cadet provided. Its pretty easy to install for a knowledgeable DIYer. Cadet heater works great in our 400 sq ft lower level. Heats the room as well as us up in no time at all. The thermostat control keeps the room toasty. I absolutely recommend this over a space heater.

The heater provides plenty of heat and does it quietly. The thermostat controls the temperature within a couple degrees. However, there isn't a clue as to what the setting might be other than some nearly invisible lines on the edge of the knob. One of the tack welds on the wall can didn't stick. It looked as if they started to sand the paint off and try it again but then forgot about it. Once the can was screwed to the studs it was solid enough. The connection wires are a little short, another six inches would have been nice. There isn't a connection box, the wiring just lays in the space behind the heaters The grill is somewhat flimsy and the louvers warp a bit when they get hot. They return to normal after they cool off though. It's rather plain looking, it might look better installed close to the floor where you would be looking down at it. Once the knob for the thermostat was installed I was unable to pull it off again. I could feel the heater assembly moving and didn't want to break anything so I'll wait until it needs to be cleaned and pull harder. Some people are fussy about "Made in USA," The fan motors are made in China, they seem to work fine so far.
