The heater provides plenty of heat and does it quietly. The thermostat controls the temperature within a couple degrees. However, there isn't a clue as to what the setting might be other than some nearly invisible lines on the edge of the knob. One of the tack welds on the wall can didn't stick. It looked as if they started to sand the paint off and try it again but then forgot about it. Once the can was screwed to the studs it was solid enough. The connection wires are a little short, another six inches would have been nice. There isn't a connection box, the wiring just lays in the space behind the heaters The grill is somewhat flimsy and the louvers warp a bit when they get hot. They return to normal after they cool off though. It's rather plain looking, it might look better installed close to the floor where you would be looking down at it. Once the knob for the thermostat was installed I was unable to pull it off again. I could feel the heater assembly moving and didn't want to break anything so I'll wait until it needs to be cleaned and pull harder. Some people are fussy about "Made in USA," The fan motors are made in China, they seem to work fine so far.

I have had the heater since November. I installed it myself, with very little electrical experience. It is a DIY project if you research how to do it and watch the online videos. I had read reviews, and was impressed. Heater went in very easily in my old Sears house that had an fuel oil heating system. I am using this heater as my only heat source in Florida. Had 30 degree weather day after installing. Heated up my 400 square foot living room and kitchen in about 10 minutes. Going to install the 110 volt version to heat up my hallway and bed/bath area. Very impressed with this Cadet Heater, and with the quick shipping from Home depot.

Our original Cadet heater lasted over 10 years, if this one does as well, we'll be very pleased. It was a snap to swap out the old heater and replace it with the new one, probably 20 minutes labor total. We are thinking about buying another as a spare in case they change the design during the next 10 years.

It replaced a brick storage heater and has no problem heating about 600 sq feet of space in North Dakota where temps reach well below zero. I use it to heat my living room and kitchen and it works awesome. I paired it with a digital thermostat for better regulation.

I installed them In two in my custom built paint studio and one in office building. The neat thing is it has a internal thermostat which always prevents frezzing temp and turns on and off to keep room above cold temps . first class .
