I would like to utilize this heater with a programmable digital thermostat. Can this be done with any brand, or is a specific one recommended? Also, I would like to connect two units to a single thermostat - is this feasible?

Answer:
It must be a baseboard heater thermostat. A regular hvac thermostat runs off low voltage - it'll burn out if you try to use it on a baseboard heater, unless you use a relay to control the heater.

Cadet offers a couple great options for electronic programmable thermostats that are compatible with the SoftHeat baseboard and will work for wiring two of the 1,250 watt 240 volt SoftHeat baseboards to it.
Please take a look at the TH106 single pole thermostat or the TH115 double pole thermostat. A single pole thermostat only has a low to high setting, whereas a double pole thermostat has a positive off setting.

Rated 4.0 out of 5 by 4 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by The perfect product for a small space! I have a 900 square foot cabin that I installed this product in. Even though it is rated for smaller square footage, it has no problem keeping my space warm. It's not too bulky and is fairly simple to install. I was concerned with the kids and dogs touching it, but it doesn't get hot on the outside. I would recommend this product to anyone who needs to heat a smaller space at the fraction of the cost it takes to run a furnace. June 8, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Gentle consistent heat This being filed with a liquid will make all the difference in the way your room feels. I got this for my bedroom as i was only using a portable one before. This is very high class looking as the paint is a bright white and the packaging was done so well that it prevented any damage during shipment. The instal is fairly straightforward but you will need to purchase a thermostat as none is included with the heater. May 18, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Soft warm heat A good space heater is what we need in our home. The cost of running the heat through the entire house doesn't make sense, since we're not in much of our house. Last winter, we had a dangerous situation where we had 1500W, 120VAC space heaters running in two bedrooms at the same time. The two bedrooms run off the same 15A circuit (14g wire). The breaker threw twice and someone just reset the breaker each time! Finally, the outlet melted and the push in backset wires lost connection and saved our house. As much as I don't want to rewire one of the rooms for 240VAC, I need to do so for safety. Then I can use a 240 VAC wall heater. 240VAC heaters use 1/2 the current that 120VAC units do - same amount of power 2X the voltage = 1/2 the current. That 's my plan. I saw this Softheat 1,250 W 240VAC baseboard heater and though this is what I need! I already understood that I had to run a 240VAC line with a separate circuit breaker, so I bit the bullet and spent 1/2 day running the new line. After the wires were run, the installation was easy. The heater works great! It takes a while to heat up, but once it's running, it's keeps heating, even after the thermostat shuts it off - the fluid inside retains heat. The heat is a nice soft heat and there is no fan to push the air through the room. They say it doesn't need a fan, since the cool air pulls up through the bottom and the warm air naturally rises. I felt that it works like it's suppose to and the warm air does circulate around the room. One other huge plus is that the heater doesn't get too hot. I was able to put my hand on it while it was running and yes, it's warm, but it's not even close to burning my hand. The unit only sticks out about 3 inches from the wall and it's 9 1/2 inches tall. It is a true 6 feet wide, so make sure you have enough clear baseboard to install it. As I write this, I have a feeling our heater is going into summer shut down mode - it was in the high 90's today. That's okay, because I know that this winter, we'll have nice soft heat in the bedroom! And based on the build quality, I feel confident that we'll be enjoying our new heater for many years to come. I recommend this unit to anyone looking for a lower current heater. June 3, 2016
