I've used my Smoke Vault 24 once, and so far so good. My local Home Depot didn't stock it so I ordered it and had it delivered to the store. The main reason having it delivered to the store is because I had read several reviews that mentioned the unit was damaged/dented in delivery. If it came that way, I could then exchange it right there at the store. The box did have a couple of tears, but overall it seemed in good shape. When I got it home, I did find one minor dent on the back edge of the top. Not a big deal. Assembly took about 45 minutes - pretty straight forward with the instructions. First use went well. The temperature adjustment is sensitive as mentioned in other reviews, but I found you can pretty much find the sweet spot you're looking for. I also found wind effects the temp as well as if the unit is setting in full sun or shade. I also bent the vents where there is an angle piece to limit the amount the vents can be opened or closed. With the angle piece in place, the vents can be opened all the way, but can only be shut half way. By bending the angle piece flat, I can control the vents much better. My first use was smoking 2 full racks of spare ribs. They turned out great. I also have a charcoal smoker (Weber Smokey Mountain) and is a well built unit, but I found controlling the temp on the charcoal unit much more difficult than the Smoke Vault propane unit. If you open the door of the Smoke Vault to add more water, wood chunks, spritz the meat, or whatever, after closing the door, if you want the heat to return to that sweet spot quickly, you can do it much easier with the propane than charcoal, or just let it set and it returns to the desired temp withing several minutes. Speaking of the door, it leaks a lot of smoke. I may try to apply a gasket that seals the door better. Overall, it does what it's supposed to do. The quality could be higher as far as the heating element and other parts, but for the price it's a good deal.

Great, well make smoker. Packaged well, only one minor dent on the back. Easily converted it to natural gas. When converting to NG you will need to light it with lighter. Takes some getting used to dial your desired smoking temp with adjusting the gas and air vents.
Wish it came with wheels, as it takes 2 people to easily move not to mention, hot! Check out the aluminum angle iron frame I had custom made with an added aluminum plate to make a useable shelf for only $150. My dad decided to go with an electric smoker so I have an extra one if anyone is interested I will let it go for $150 plus shipping.

Lots of room for meat. Temperature is consistent. Door thermometer is way off. (Use a good digital thermometer instead.) Door leaks a little smoke.

The unit is well built and seems to have a good quality burner. It also consumes less propane than I expected. The inside is very spacious and will easily hold even the largest briskets.
The sheet metal construction is a little thinner than I expected, which causes the temps to drift. Not a big issue if you keep the water pan full to help stabilize the temps. The burner gas knob is also very sensitive, which requires some getting used to. Once you get the temp set, it does not require much adjustment.
Overall the food that comes out of this smoker has been outstanding every time.

Extremely easy to assemble and set up . Very accessible water and wood trays . The only way things could be better is to make reservations in your favorite barbeque restaurant!

Easy to assemble. Smoked Beef Jerky and it came out wonderful. Got the propane bottle at Ace Hardware (bought it to own brand new for $15) and then it's $20 to fill each time you need it filled fully. But, you don't have to return and trade and end up with some used bottle..you own your own and you can keep it nice.
The smoker worked very very well. And, it looks MUCH NICER in person than it does on the internet. The smoker weighs 75 lbs, but easily manageable as there are handles on each side, so 2 folks can easily carry where you want it to be. We got the cover for it too and it's durable and made well. We can't wait to smoke our own ham and Beef Brisket when the weather warms up. Glad we got propane and not electric. We researched a lot, and feel this was the best for the money. The smoker was also $80 less than the major competitor of this store. We did go on line and buy 2 extra jerky racks and the beer can holder for chickens. Can't wait to try chicken!!!
