Product Overview

The Campbell Hausfeld air cleaner/dryer system (PA208503AV) cleans air and removes water vapor at the point of use to help support applications that require oil-free, moisture-free air, like spray painting. Two separate systems condition the air: An oil-removal filter traps 99.9 percent of all oil aerosols and a desiccant system removes water vapor. An outlet screen keeps desiccant particles from entering the airstream, protecting air tools. The desiccant changes color when it needs to be changed or recharged, providing an easily visible reminder. The cleaner/dryer system includes a quick-release bowl for easily viewing the fluid level and is protected against impact by metal guards. A quarter-turn drain makes maintenance easier. Answer:
The moisture from the coalescing filter should be manually drained before every use. The dessicant filter should be replaced when it turns pink. The filter element will need to be replaced when the service indicator pops up.

Rated 3.8 out of 5 by 18 reviewers.
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Can Not Locate Replacement Parts!!! It seems to do exactly what you think it would.. Performs perfectly.. except that you can't find replacement parts.. Even at the Campbell Hausfeld website the picture of the desiccant beads shows "Image not found" and a dead link. I'm sure any other desiccant beads will work just fine... I'm looking for a replacement thin blue screen/filter that goes outside the actual filter and.. absolutely no way. I've looked everywhere from Amazon to Ebay, Sears, Home Depot... Bottom line: This thing has consumables. The beads will only last a day or so. You can not find Campbell Hausfeld replacements. You'll be using a different brand and hoping it works. Anything outside of desiccant are unavailable. June 7, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by a waste of time purschased this product and got it about a week later, installed in my garage to compressor and overnite heard the compressor kick on a couple of times. sprayed for leaks and found leaks both at the inlet and outlet of the filter. took apart and this time used 4 layers of teflon tape, still came up with a leak. cleaned and screwed in fittings without teflon to make sure im using the right size fittings, and they screw in but leaves a little wiggle room. returning this today. expected a better product. will definetly run up your electric bill and cost you more in the long run. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good for Price I'm using it in paint booth works very well. As another person stated I'm only painting parts of cars so it works very well. If you painted complete cars daily or run high volume for a long period of time I'm sure you would need bigger or change filter often. It is smaller than you would expect as other prople stated but change my filter on the gun often and have no moisture problem. November 11, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Clean Dry Air This filter/dryer is doing an excellent job protecting my expensive production line equipment. Thanks November 11, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Air Compressor Water Seperator Great Product for the price. Makes sandblasting and painting with my compressor much more efficient. Works great and for the price compared to similar desiccant dryer set-ups this items is a great value! October 21, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Does what it's supposed to do This filter/dryer works as designed. It is geared more for the hobbiest it is NOT designed to move massive amounts of air. I paint cars (bumpers and such, not whole cars) for a living and clean dry air is mandatory. Works great for what I use. Draining the tank through the air hose was a bit much for the dessicant to handle. Made a remote drain under the tank and the dessicant has remained blue after 2 weeks of daily use. July 31, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Just what the doctor ordered Use to clean air for airbrushing fish baits, having replacemnet dessicant material was a big plus ... I am able to swap out the material and I bake the moisture laiden pink to reviatalize it which makes it ready for the next use. Drawback is the O ring that wants to slide up the canister, I did find if I stretch it and quickly place it on the canister and insert the canister into the top of the filter I was able to reseat the assembly successfuly October 2, 2012
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by only get half use The desiccant beads turn pink at the bottom third of the canister and then moister starts to get through before the upper portion of beads turn pink. If the design allowed to use up all the beads before changing them out it would be better...It works good other wise...for the price I guess...bought one two weeks ago and the next week went to buy one for the other shop and they went up $20 ...it used to be a good deal.
