Char-broil Grille grates

What are the sizes for each of the grates for the Charbroil Red 3 burner. I have the porcelain coated and would rather have stainless steel. The porcelain grates are worthless and very hard to keep clean.
Asked by: Anonymous
I can't give you the exact size of the grates, but I will tell you that if you are having trouble keeping your porcelain grates clean, you are doing something wrong. After we use our grill, I turn it onto clean (Highest heat) for 10 minutes then brush the grates with a heavy brush. It gets off everything! Up to and including burned on BBQ sauce and Cheese from cheeseburgers! Plus my brush has a hook that allows me to remove the hot grates and brush the back side of the grates. My brush is a Char-broil brush.

I bought my Big Red from you about 3 years ago. How easy is it to transfer from propane to nat gas?

Asked by: Anonymous
Converting your grill wouldn't be difficult at all. Please just make sure that your natural gas line can support it and that the correct conversion kit is being used. To safely convert from propane to natural gas, please use the natural gas conversion kit designed for your grill. This is model # 4584625. RED TRU-Infrared 3-Burner Propane Gas Grill-DISCONTINUED is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 86.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Grill! This is the best gas grill that I have had. My last one was a Webber. It cooks just as good on the high temperature as it does on the low temperatures. The high temp setting(800 degree) is good for searing steaks. It has a BBQ setting for regular BBQ and a rotissoire setting which I have used several times to cook beef and poultry which turned out great! It somes with an instruction manual which gives good tips on how to cook different meat and vegetables using the grill. The heat in the cooking area is evenly distributed and it is easy to clean. IT has a self-cleaning setting like a stove. It also uses less propane than my old grill did

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great BBQ everytime! We bought this BBQ for Fathers Day nearly 4 or 5 years ago. The first year the BBQ was in the HomeDepot Store. As the person who cleans the grill -this is hands down the best every made. EASY. The grease is burned up versus caught in a grease trap creating another problem-emptying with out spilling. This is like an oven outside in design. We grill steaks, chicken, fish, shrimp, Vegies and routierse Chicken, ribs, turkey -perfect every time. The problems we have had were as other indicate-all the instructions on the outside during general cleaning come off. Charbroil sent us replacements at no cost the first time -now we just know where the settings are. The first one had a painted inside cover which, during our first winter of BBQ, flaked. Charbroil replaced it with a the current stainless liner they now incorporate in their design. We would like to have two storage areas for the gas as we BBQ year round in KS. We just pull it closer to the patio door on the coldest of winter days. It is the best quality BBQ we have had as far as frame, rollers, etc and the support from Charbroil is EXCELLENT. Not often seen in today's manufacturing out of China. The temperature gauge did go out this past fall. Now we just set a timer to allow enough preheat. We too have replaced the liners just once and they are not expensive. The grills are the original. The second set, we did the recommended "Pretreat" with oil. One of the guys at Home depot says he replaces the drip pans annually which we have not found necessary. We do not have the one with the gas sensor which is handy as when you start a slow cooking process. We did buy a griddle and do bacon in the AM on the side burner in the summer for salads and for breakfast. Love bacon hate the smell in the house. we have made pancakes out there once or twice too. WISHES: more storage.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Darn Grill I ever bought! I have bought probably 20 plus grills in my lifetime! This "Big Red" is far the best ever! Even Weber's cannot cook with this baby! Yes, this is a TRUE Infrared that works!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from This grill cooks great and evenly with no flare ups. I purchased this grill (model #463250108) in 2008 same design as this but over 200 lbs, a little larger dimensions and the primary burner BTU's ~ 35,400. I keep the grill covered when not in use. I give it 3 stars because of the following...Some of the art work on the front of the grill is fading. No rust on the grill but some pitting on the door handles. The heat plate/trough should be cleaned after cooking. Last year I removed the rust from the heat plate/trough and I used heat resistant spray paint to cover the bare metal. I have to replace the left steel heat plate/trough (most heavily used) that holds the cooking grate. It has several holes on the bottom. Also the heat plate/trough on the right has some rust, no holes but will have to be replaced. A grill that cooks great but has some flaws.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Yard sculpture I bought this grill in the summer of 2010. It was a bit of a pain to put together and isn't the highest quality contruction. However it cooks better than any grill I've ever had. We were blown away by how good everthing came out. Then the love affair ended. The dreaded problem of the temp not getting over 350 started. I went back and did all the things recommended to solve this problem. After several tries it started heating to 650+ like a champ. That lasted for about a week. Try as hard as I might the problem wouldn't go away. I even tried different tanks of propane and new regulators. When turned on I could smell propane so I sprayed soupy water on all the connections I could see. No leaks. Could still smell propane and check for leaks several more times to no avail. I finally called CharBroil and explained everything I had tried. After a bit of "discussion" they agreed to send me a new valve assembly but wanted to make me pay for shipping. After I pitched a fit about why should I pay shipping for a brand new grill part that was defective they waived the shipping charge and sent it. Swapping out the valve assembly took a couple hours, skinned knuckles, and may newly invent curse words. Fired it up and it worked great! At least for the first five times and then back to the not heating problem. By that time winter was on us and the problem was forgotten. Spring finally came to New England about two weeks ago. I went out to test out the grill hoping it had somehow repaired itself over the winter. Of course it hadn't. Due to health problems I haven't been able to attemp another fix but am not hopeful. Basically I'm left with a large heavy metal yard sculpture.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from NOT RECOMMENDED I have never written a review before, but feel I really need to let the public know about this product & CharBroil's concern about customer satifaction. I purchased one of these grills a couple of years ago. The troughs are falling apart. I have maintained this grill w/upmost care. It has always been clean and covered and out of the weather. When i called Charbroil to replace these parts, they were no longer under warranty. The cost to replace these two pieces costs nearly 1/2 of the total cost of the grill. I inquired about them discounting these parts, but they refused! I told them that I was very dissatisfied with the quality of the parts & their concern about customer satisfaction, but they were not concerned about any of this. A family member purchased one of these grills shortly after I did. This family member has hated it from day one & was extremely dissatisfied with the product. Needless to say, this person sent their purchase to the local landfill long before I did. If you like to purchase a new grill every year, then this is the grill for you. If you expect your grill to last for a few years, then this is not the grill for you. I do NOT RECOMMEND THIS GRILL TO ANYONE.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from 2 years old, not impressed I bought this grill 2 years ago based on all the reviews on how well it cooks....well it cooks fine. I am Disappointed, the stainless is rusting, all the lettering and heat indicators are becomeing unreadable, the cover looks aweful, all the red in the cover has turned grey, one of the side platforms is falling off. This is not a quality grill, for $600.00 I expcet more.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Rust already?? Purchased this grill just 3 months ago for over $700 dollars. The burners are rusted, both "U"'s are cracked on the bottom and rusted. Some of the stainless steel is tarnished and won't clean up. The ceramic coated cast iron grates will not come clean no matter how long one leaves the grill on the "clean" setting. Unhappy!!!
