As noted, this rod support bracket will break, usually after years of overloaded service. Replacing one is cheap, and quick. Not noted by reviewers is that if you overload the system, as most of us probably do, you can add more of these brackets along the rod--you do not have to pair them with a shelf support bracket (the one that goes to the wall). If you really like to load the shelves and rods, then either install wall and rod brackets every two feet (2'), add additional supports in an existing installation, or look for a more expensive solution. This product is a nice balance of price/performance/ease of installation. With reasonable expectations, you will be pleased.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by LizH Heavy load, no problem.
I installed these with a closet system 12 years ago. I have a lot hanging on these, installed about every 3 feet. And I really mean A LOT. I have a bunch of long dresses, beaded or rhinestones, very heavy.
Never had a break, I don't know what people were hanging on theirs.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Jimbo1376 hook/support for shelfs
The plastic hooks were easy to install. The only caution is to use more of them than recommended if you hang a lot of clothes on the rods that the hooks support. They have a thin attachment ( maybe the manufacurer will thicken this in the future) on one end of the hook and will break under the weight of a full rack of clothes. Use 3 hooks for every two that the manufacturer recommends. Other than this, I find the system very useful.

The ClosetMaid closet rod support bracket UPC #5629 is weak where the shelf hooks in the front of the bracket.
I installed three of these on a 5" rod and two have broken. And needless to say everything ended up on the floor.

I had many of these fail in a large closet. After so many failed, I contacted the manufacturer who now states that they are only capable of handling the weight of one hanger of clothes every two inches which is a joke in my opinion. Try and find that stated on any product descriptions. Stay away from the brand or you will spend the same money two or three times on replacements.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Zoey Great product that serves its purpose well
This support bracket does exactly what its supposed to (support the rod) & it does it well. It does cause the bar to hang a bit lower than it it were attached directly to the metal shelves, so if the height of the bar will be an issue, make sure to plan for that in advanced. Otherwise it's great for adding a hanging rod to any set of shelves! Fairly quick & easy to assemble as well. It is made of plastic, so I don't think it would support a great amount of weight, but for clothes it seems to be working just fine.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by CODAISY Bracket does what it's meant to!
Needed to replace my existing bracket for my ClosetMaid system. This bracket did the trick and at a GREAT price. I purchased more than I had installed in the past and it truly supports the closet rod (I have a ton of heavy clothes). Would recommend the product!
