I have four of these ceiling lights and none of them make a humming noise. I appreciate the bright white color and the extra visibility they provide for laundry, hallway and closet areas. They are a big improvement over the previous incandescent converted to fluorescent fixtures they replaced.

I have had fluorescent lights where the electronic ballast does not last long enough to even light the bulb for the first time, has anyone had similar experiences with LED fixtures?

Answer:
These LED fixtures have a "power supply" module that drops the 120VAC to 33VDC to power the LEDs. The power supply can be a weak link. And, unlike a fluorescent ballast, good luck finding a replacement power supply. I bought two identical LED ceiling fixtures and had one fail within a month of purchase.

good quality LED's should last quite a while. Too many on the market (inexpensive flash lights are too often in this group) will fail often. this light has been good for the 6 mo. we have had it.

Hello there, I installed my lights in semi exposed stair well. They are working fine.
I suggest you read the manufactures info on the lights. As I don't recall if they are outdoor rated.
They are dimable, but I didn't wire to this function.
