Designed for kitchen, bath, or laundry, exhaust pipes that terminate through the roof. Can be used on all standard pitch roofs. The adjustable rubber collar allows for a snug fit around the pipe. 28-Gauge galvanized steel base flashing, 4 in. around the cone. Removable stem provided for easy installation. Cap design prevents rain and debris from entering.

Hi Leonard, yes should work as long as the pipe terminates at least 6 inches passed the top of the shake.

Is this item to be installed at the bottom of the pipe itself?

Can I paint the whole thing to match shingles?

Yes, just prime it first. You will be touching it up often due to sun fade though.
