Rated 4 out of 5Â by Dadofwag Blocks light effectively and is light and easy to install
I installed the coolaroo exterior roller shade on a purpose-built pergola to shade our back patio. The shade is very easy to install, but make sure the the opening is the exact width required. It's lighter than you'd think and can be handled by one person. The sun is entirely blocked by the shade. While there are no obvious defects it's so lightly constructed, I suspect it will only last 3-5 seasons.

Easy to install (after the 1st one). Just followed directions, measuring carefully.
Loosened/turned the 'Brake Screws' 1 full turn (counterclockwise) so as to not break the plastic chain for raising/lowering.
Using bungee cords for anchoring the bottom w/ mild tension, repeats, mild tension (keep them from blowing around in the breezes). Raises (retracts) them in breezes in excess of 10mph +/-. You'll know when to.
My Coolaroo exterior shades range in size from 48" x 72" to 120" x 96", total of 5 up at this time. The larger, heck, we could place them on a sailboat & be in Hawaii in 3 days, the way they catch the breezes.
This array of shades keeps the interior room temperature 10 - 18 degrees cooler which allows the ac to consume less electricity + providing some additional privacy.
May add more to this review in time. Time of service/durability is a semi unknown factor as the original set purchased have only been up for a year. They have weathered well so far.
I live near Phoenix, AZ, btw. It gets a tad warm here during the summertimes.
Now, Kudos for store service:
Mgr Ryan Oda, Store # 420, is the reason I spent nearly $1k with Home Depot during the recent weeks. He is a credit to Home Depot. I have observed him work w/ clients, w/ staff members, dealt w/ him personally & found him an excellent organizer, communicator, exceptionally knowledgeable person who effectively accomplishes in necessary areas, even those that may not have been thought of previously. I know from experience, more than likely, Home Depot is not paying this gentleman near enough $$$$$$ for his services to the Corporation.
Staff members Corey, Tom, & Rick deserve recognition & very positive kudos for work/assistance well accomplished.
My thanks/kudos to all of this team.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by PattyLou Great product!
The given measurements of the blinds were right on target. I had no wiggle room in the installation of 2 of these blinds together end-to-end. They fit exactly and I am very pleased about that because I measured a thousand times before ordering.
My only problem is that the crank is too short for the height of the blind. I have to use a footstool to reach the crank handle for putting them up and down.
They block the westerly sun well.

This past weekend I had this shade installed and I LOVE it. I have a shaded porch but absolutely no privacy from neighors who are constantly entertaining and hanging outdoors. The shades are wonderful because they give instant privacy, curb appeal and I really like the see through fabric. The only problem I forsee would be the hardware, I do not see longevity down the road. The shade itself is very nice, but the brackets and plastic cord is not high-end, but considering the price I paid and what I got in return makes it worth the risk. If I get 3 years out of it, it will be money well spent.

This is advertised and pictured as a cordless Exterior Roller shade - it is incorrectly stated. THIS MODEL IS NOT CORDLESS:
Model # 460082 Internet # 203304084 Store SKU # 765992
We were looking for cordless exterior shades so that the grandkids would not play with the cords or get hurt with the cords. Unfortunately as stated above it is incorrectly identified and pictured as cordless.
A store employee stated that he would call the main office to get this corrected.
We did purchase 2 - 10 FT shades and I was able to disassemble the childproof cord hanging mechanism and I put a plastic hook up high and wrapped the cord on the hook so the kids cannot reach the cords. The quality of the fabric is a bit flimsy however to our surprise within 30 minutes the temperature on our deck was reduced by a good 10 degrees or more.
We figure that if we can 3-4 years out of these at this price it is a fair deal.
