The Cree 75 watt A-type replacement daylight bulbs were a big disappointment after having great luck with 60 watt A-type replacement soft white bulbs and 65 watt BR30 soft white flood bulbs. It started with an occasional flicker that became more frequent, then failure.

Love how well this bulb lights up a large bed room. As my son is a student, he needs to see clearly while doing his home work.

These are the best of the LED bulbs I've tried. The only application in which they don't work any better than anyone else's bulb is in enclosed fixtures. I have old-fashioned "school house" type fixtures in my '70s kitchen, and they kill LED bulbs pretty quick. Ina a tradition "open" lamp, like the floor lamp I bought these for, they have no problems. The color temperature is much better than the less expensive "daylight" bulbs I've tried.

Trying to standardize the house on one brand of bulbs and these from Cree seem to be well constructed and are heavier for better heat sinking.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by BobVT Daylight is no joke!
I had to replace an outdoor and went with the lowest cost "jelly jar" type light. I wanted a 100W light however the 100W would not fit into the opening and I went with this 75W.
As we get older brighter lights seem to be better. I hate soft white lights and opted for this daylight one. The bulb will probably never be changed again since it will last so long. The brightness of the daylight is no joke and it works great!! The cost is high and way more then double the fixture price but it will last.
Here in Vermont is tends to get cold and the CFL bulbs just were not working up to potential but this LED is instant.
I have basically sold myself on two things.........LED bulbs and in the Daylight type.

I had these in a 3 -7 hour a day location and several have stopped working. I don't see how some can credit this lamp for long life as it has only been introduced for a couple years. The spec claim is 24000 hrs and last time I checked there is 8700 hrs in a year! Stay away from Cree!
