Customer Questions & Answers

please be more specific about what does the 15 in mean, is it the length of the handle or is 15 in the circumference the chain will take?

Does the 15 in represents the length of the handle or does it represent the circumference that the chain will handle?
Asked by: Paul
Paul, Sorry about the confusion about the chain wrench. The overall length of the tool is 19 inches long, the handle portion measuring 15 inches. The chain measures 19 inches long. This wrench can handle a maximum pipe diameter of 5 inches.

Works as expected and seems close in quality to the Rigid it replaced. Only several decades will tell as my old Rigid was from the 70's. Shipping was good, product was packaged well and arrived five days after I ordered it, still completely in the box. I have had some tools arrive only partly in the box, like the delivery company had to put them back in the cheap box. Bought this to tighten a 1/2" valve on a floor stub pipe where I couldn't get a pipe wrench to fit between the wall and the valve. The chain was a lot thinner than the pipe wrench jaw and worked well. The 12" would have sufficed for this job, but got the bigger one for the next (maybe) job.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just What I Needed Removing and replacing a pipe in a TIGHT space was the reason for my choice to buy this tool. Couldn't get on the pipe with a pipe wrench , so I bought this chain wrench, which should do the job very nicely. Well constructed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cresent 1.5 in. chain wrench A very good wrench indeed. I use it every day on the job. I use it to tighten or loosen unions in very tight areas where a standard pipe wrench can't get into the specific ares. The wrench is very durable, strong, & I count on it's performance every day & the chain wrench has not let me down. Very good investment.
